Geneva, Switzerland: After months of preparation, UNV's report to the Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS Annual Session 2014 in Geneva results in success. Member States decide to continue support for the Special Voluntary Fund and commend UNV's work connecting volunteerism in the Post-2015 debate, building new partnerships and signing MOUs with UN entities and governments. This Executive Board Report provides an analysis of the three main phases in UNV history, including the principal milestones, from start-up to the present time, to contribute to an understanding of how UNV is situated today in terms of volunteerism and people-centred development, and to provide a solid basis for determining strategic directions for the next four years and beyond, including in relation to its need to deliver results through a predictable and sustainable resource base. Geneva, Switzerland: On the occasion of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board meeting, 28 June 2012, UNV Executive Coordinator Flavia Pansieri stated that during 2010-2011 "around 7,500 UN Volunteers annually contributed to the strategic objectives of UNDP, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, 22 other United Nations entities, 18 Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions, and peace-building support offices. These UN Volunteers were from 160 different nationalities and engaged in 132 countries, making UNV a truly global programme. UNV continues to recruit high quality UN Volunteers, while pursuing gender balance and geographic distribution." Read

The present report provides an overview of results achieved by the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme during the 2010-2011 biennium, in support of programme countries and United Nations organizations in their peace and development efforts, including achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). It provides an overview of the performance of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme in 2006-2007, and information on results achieved in areas where UNV is making distinctive contributions to programme countries and United Nations system-wide efforts towards peace and development, including the Millennium Development Goals.
The 2006 report provides an overview of the performance of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme during the biennium 2004-2005 through the results framework of the organization, which is aligned to the multi-year funding framework (MYFF) of UNDP. At its core are the areas of distinctive contribution that UNV makes to United Nations system-wide efforts towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
