Intern in Special Operations
Application deadline: 30 November 2008
Duration: 2/3 months (expected starting date January 2009) Background: Established by the United Nations General Assembly, the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme supports human development globally by actively promoting the concept of volunteerism for development (V4D) that includes the mobilization of volunteers. This internship should be seen as a learning experience in the area of administrative support, recruitment of UN Volunteers for UN Peacekeeping Missions and an introduction into the daily activities of the recruitment cell of the Special Operations section. It will also give the intern a good insight into the working methods of an international organization, i.e. United Nations Volunteers. Under the guidance of the Recruitment Associate, the incumbent will assist the Recruitment Cell in the following duties:
