Photo story: Deputy Executive Coordinator visits Zambia and Malawi

In Zambia, UNV works with the Micro Bankers Trust on an urban-based Microfinance for Poverty Reduction Project. During a field visit to Kamanga compound, Deputy Executive Coordinator Naheed Haque interacted with the project participants who shared personal accounts of how the project has positively impacted their lives. The women reported on their economic empowerment, presenting two pictures of their lives: one before their participation in the project and the other five years into the project. The difference was phenomenal. Here, one of the participants displays her wares to Ms Haque, who was honoured with the gift of a traditional wrap, the Chitenge.
