UNV photo contest in DR Congo

01 December 2005

Kinshasa, DR Congo: For the upcoming International Volunteer Day (IVD) on 5 December 5, UNV’s liaison office in Kinshasa is organizing a photo contest with the theme “What does volunteering mean to you?”. The exhibit will consist of photographs sent by Congolese and international volunteers working in this country.

The jury will be composed of representatives from UNV, MONUC’s Information Division, UN agencies, NGOs as well as one correspondent from international news agency.

The aim of the project is to create an enhancing environment that allows volunteers to find opportunities and to recognize other volunteering efforts in a post-conflict society. It is also aimed at bringing Congolese and international volunteers together and give them a chance to share their view on volunteering.

To get involved in the organization of IVD in the DR Congo, contact UNV’s liaison office in Kinshasa. Photos submissions should be sent to the email address indicated in the UNV “contact” section.
