Malakal, South Sudan: A recent UN video captured UNV Medical Officer Dr. Meroni Abraham going about his duties in the aftermath of the violent clashes to recapture  Malakal, the capital city of oil-rich Upper Nile State, South Sudan, from the rebels.  Dr. Abraham served in Malakal throughout the conflict, taking only a few days off due to his commitment to support the people of South Sudan, and despite his incredible responsibilities, is the focal point for UN Volunteers in Malakal.
