Volunteerism in Viet Nam: Contributions to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals
Volunteerism cannot only make significant contributions to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in developing countries,1 it can have significant positive social and economic impacts on all countries and societies. It can benefit society through increased participation of citizens, by breaking down cultural barriers and misunderstandings and strengthening good governance and transparency. It can also have direct development impacts. Using this as a basis, this study investigates the contribution of volunteerism in Viet Nam and provides more evidence to support the link between volunteerism and the contributions to the achievement of the MDGs in this country. |
