UNV recognizes that sustainable management of natural resources and community-based approaches to climate change are inextricably linked to poverty reduction.

UNV aims to increase its support to initiatives involving community-based organizations and local volunteerism that can play a decisive role in improving the lives of the poor, while simultaneously benefiting the environment.
