I started my UNV assignment in March of this year in the Communication for Development (C4D) section of UNICEF in Malawi, one of the poorest countries on the African continent. Being a UNV volunteer is about much more than just improving one’s skills or experiencing a new country and culture. In celebration of the International Day of the African Child, commemorated globally on 16 June, UNV volunteers serving with the UN Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) in Bentiu helped organize a day-long event. Read

UNV organized a one-day event with local students to promote recycling and other environmentally-friendly practices in Kosovo. Read
