Ha Noi, Viet Nam: The Prime Minister of Viet Nam has approved a million-dollar UNV-led project that will help develop the country's voluntary sector. The project will establish a Viet Nam Volunteer Information Resource Centre to help raise awareness of volunteerism for development, and involves Government, UN and NGO partners. Read

Ha Noi, Viet Nam: Two private-sector volunteer experts have boosted learning at a hospitality trade school in Viet Nam via a joint programme supported by UNV and Kraft Foods Inc. A food scientist and a chef from Kraft spent two weeks assisting Hoa Sua School in Ha Noi , a non-profit organization which trains disadvantaged and disabled youth for the vocational sector. Read

In more than 140 countries, UNV volunteers, the majority of whom hail from developing countries themselves, worked in key areas such as poverty reduction, crisis recovery, elections support, governance and HIV/AIDS.
