Bonn, Germany: Two years ago, the National Centre for Disabled Persons was founded in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Centre was very much needed in Cambodia. The devastating civil war and the hazardous pervasiveness of landmines have taken a heavy toll. One in every 250 Cambodians has lost a limb to a mine, and while casualties have fallen from around 500 to 150 a month, over five million mines are believed to remain undetonated. Read
