The UNV programme maintains a field presence in over 70 countries. Managing the country programme as well as the needs and expectations of the UNV volunteers is a task unto itself. 

We entrust UNV Programme Officers with this task.  Being volunteers themselves, UNV Programme Officers manage the varied requirements of the other UNV volunteers and frequently work at the core of the UN's presence in their countries.

Working under the banner of the UNDP country office to which they are assigned, they liaise with a host of different UN agencies as well as governments and NGOs.
