UNV Executive Director Flavia Pansieri's message for International Volunteer Day (IVD), 5 December 2009. For IVD, UNV launched the "Volunteering for our Planet" campaign with 'Seal the Deal' to highlight volunteers' contribution in fighting climate change and report this to world leaders in the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. The campaign has asked people to register their volunteer actions and hours in the web site www.VolunteeringforourPlanet.org hosted by the Seal the Deal site. Days before IVD, UNV was able to gather more than 1 million volunteer hours.
