For tens of millions of people around the world, volunteering is an expression of support for a principle that strikes to the heart of the United Nations system: that by working together, we can make the world a better place for everyone.

UNV’s activities support achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and reducing human poverty; fostering democratic governance; promoting energy and environmental policies; strengthening resources to prevent and respond to crises; and fighting the spread of HIV/AIDS.
