Burundi
 Depuis 1970, le Programme VNU est opérationnel au Burundi dans la plupart de secteurs traditionnels du développement social et économique. Pendant presqu’une vingtaine d’années, la plupart des VNUs en poste au Burundi ont surtout oeuvré dans les secteurs du Développement rural, de la santé, de l’éducation et des Organisations non Gouvernementales. Le Burundi compte actuellement plus de 20 ressortissant qui servent comme VNUI dans le monde: en Guinée, en Côte d’Ivoire, au Soudan, au Kosovo, etc. Related articles Masala Boly, UN Volunteer with UNICEF in Burundi

 Ruyigi, Burundi: The UN estimates that there are 9.2 million refugees and displaced people in the world today. Even if these people do make it back home, they still need somewhere to live.

 Bujumbura, Burundi: My short stint as UNV volunteer is probably my way to identify the areas where I could be a key player. 'Key player' does not mean the mission will depend on you all along; instead it just means putting something on the table. I just want to contribute but not to be celebrated as the hero – heroes are just in stories anyways. Read
