Rabat, Morocco: Adélise Gobillot from Belgium is a UN Volunteer intern who provides support to the UNAIDS office in Rabat, Morocco. She actively participates in the work carried out by UNAIDS together with communities, government and other UN agencies to reduce the number of new HIV infections, advance human rights in the response to HIV/AIDS, and address the vulnerability of women, girls and sexual minorities in Morocco. Making dates for coffee in Morocco

Volunteerism and the Millennium Development Goals: Success stories from the UNV programme

Volunteerism is considered a powerful means of engaging people in tackling development challenges, and a crucial renewable resource for social and environmental problem-solving throughout the world.

General Assembly resolution A/Res/56/38 asked the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme to provide technical cooperation in the field of volunteerism to realize its potential as a resource for attaining the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
