Three UNV Doctors among volunteers honoured by Limpopo Rotary Club

Polokwane, Limpopo, South Africa: Three UNV Doctors were among those honoured at a Thank You Braai and Celebration for international volunteers held in March by the Rotary Club of Polokwane in Limpopo Province, South Africa. UNV Internist Dr. Jerome Hubahib (Philippines), UNV Speicalist Cardiologist Dr. Rajeev Misra (India) and former UNV Obstetrician/Gynecologist Dr. Asha Misra (India), as well as eight US Peace Corps volunteers, received certificates of recognition for their work in Limpopo communities Read

Malawi: For UNV Specialist Anesthesiologist Dr. Nicholas Lenge Katawamba (DRC) at Zomba Central Hospital in Malawi, having only one ventilator in the four-bed ICU was one of the greatest challenges he faced in assisting patients. Using his networks, he  connected the hospital with a volunteer organization in the UK which collects good quality used medical equipment in Europe and sends it to developing countries where it can continue to save lives.
