UNV Deputy Executive Coordinator Kyoko Yokosuka

Kyoko Yokosuka, UNV Deputy Executive Coordinator

Ms Kyoko Yokosuka (Japan) has been announced as the Deputy Executive Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, and will take up her appointment in April 2021.

Kyoko has been serving as Chief of External Relations and Communication Section (ERCS) in UNV since July 2019.

She joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1998, when she started working in Romania as Junior Professional Officer. Since then, Kyoko has worked in the Bureau for Development Policy and the Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS at UNDP Headquarters.

Kyoko has also served as UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Uzbekistan (2005-2010), Lao PDR (2011-2014) and Bangladesh (2017-2019). 

Kyoko is a Japanese national and holds a Master's degree in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She speaks Japanese and English. Kyoko has one child.
