In 2021, the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme celebrated 50 years since its founding. The West and Central Africa region welcomed the first UN Volunteers in 1971. Since then, many people from all walks of life joined the programme to support peace and development in the region. This photo book features results, experiences and success stories from former volunteers, alongside testimonials from partners and serving volunteers. It shows the impact of volunteerism on their lives, results and careers.
