El/ la candidata/a ideal es alguien que se sienta cómodo representando a la organización con mayor impacto en la lucha por los derechos de niños, niñas y adolescentes en el mundo, teniendo diálogos directos en espacios públicos y privados, desarrollando equipos, cultivando habilidades blandas, técnicas de recaudación de fondos y perspectivas de la lucha por los derechos de niños, niñas y adolescentes. Que ponga en el centro de su trabajo el impacto de sus resultados personales y de equipo en la vida de niños y niñas, siendo capaz de interactuar con su equipo y con el público en diferentes contextos.

Estamos construyendo un equipo que cree en los demás, que cree en la infancia, que cree en el trabajo en equipo. Buscamos personas que nos ayuden a trazar un nuevo capítulo para el canal de F2F en Panamá.

En el marco de la autoridad delegada y bajo la supervisión del Oficial de recaudación de fondos de individuos o su representante designado, el/la Voluntario/a Social Champion Team Leader II de la ONU llevará a cabo las siguientes tareas:

Manejar y desarrollar equipos de recaudación de fondos para UNICEF con enfoque entrenamiento y monitoreo de operaciones, desarrollo de habilidades blandas y metodología cara a cara (face to face) con el fin de que tanto el/ella misma, como los equipos creen conversaciones con personas en espacios públicos y/o privados, con el fin de inspirarles a contribuir con el trabajo de UNICEF en favor de las niñas, niños y adolescentes, a través de donaciones recurrentes por medio de un débito directo.

  • Participar en el proceso de selección de facers y team leaders miembros del equipo.
  • Entrenar, capacitar y desarrollar las habilidades de recaudación de fondos de los facers.
  • Entrenar capacitar y desarrollar habilidades de liderazgo y gestión de equipos de brazos derechos y próximos Team Leaders.
  • Monitorear y evaluar el desempeño del equipo a su cargo para determinar las cualidades positivas, las oportunidades de mejora y el complimiento de estándares de calidad de Social Champions.
  • Brindar retroalimentación sobre el desempeño de los facers y brazos derechos para orientar su gestión hacia las metas e indicadores definidos.
  • En coordinación con el área de Adquisición de nuevos donantes, plantear las metas e indicadores del equipo.
  • Presentar reportes y resultados diarios, semanales y mensuales al área de Adquisición de nuevos donantes.
  • Evaluar los puntos de captación de donantes más efectivos para optimizar el trabajo del equipo y recomendar nuevas alternativas.
  • En coordinación con el área de Adquisición de nuevos donantes, implementar acciones para apoyar al equipo en la consecución de sus metas mensuales.
  • Mantenerse activo en la captación de donantes cara a cara y capacitado, con el fin de tener las herramientas para guiar al equipo con el ejemplo. Alcanzar metas personales de recaudación de fondos que sirvan como modelo para motivar al equipo.
  • Receptar y gestionar reclamos o situaciones conflictivas con donantes o con puntos de captación.
  • Mantener una actitud abierta a la retroalimentación en todo momento.
  • Sensibilizar y capacitar al equipo frente al mandato, la cultura organizacional y los programas de UNICEF en coordinación con el área de Adquisición de nuevos donantes.
  • Sensibilizar al equipo sobre su condición de voluntarios ONU, y transmitir el mandato y la cultura organizacional de UNV.
  • Crear espacios para promover el trabajo en equipo, su integración y motivación.
  • Cualquier otra actividad que se requiera o sea asignada por el supervisor.

Además de lo anterior, a los Voluntarios de la ONU se les insta a integrarse al mandato del programa en el marco de su asignación y promover la acción voluntaria a través de la integración en las comunidades en el desarrollo de su trabajo. Como tales, los Voluntarios de la ONU deben dedicar parte de su tiempo de trabajo a alguna de las siguientes actividades recomendadas:

  • Fortalecer su conocimiento y entendimiento sobre el concepto de voluntariado por medio de la lectura de publicaciones pertinentes tanto del programa VNU como externas, así como desempeñar un papel activo en las actividades del programa VNU (por ejemplo, en los eventos de conmemoración del Día Internacional del Voluntariado);
  • Conocer y desarrollar las formas tradicionales y/o locales de voluntariado en el país anfitrión;
  • Proveer reportes de autoevaluación anuales y al finalizar la asignación sobre las acciones de VNU, resultados y oportunidades;
  • Contribuir con artículos/críticas de sus experiencias en el terreno y enviarlas a la sede para su inclusión en el sitio web, publicaciones, panfletos/boletines, notas de prensa, etc. del programa VNU;
  • Ayudar con el Programa de Mentores para los nuevos Jóvenes Voluntarios de la ONU;
  • Impulsar o asesorar a grupos locales en el uso del servicio Voluntariado en Línea del programa VNU o promover el uso del servicio a individuos y organizaciones locales relevantes cuando sea técnicamente posible.

  1. Support in the review and assessment of existing processes, in close coordination with Country Offices (CO) management and the Regional Office (RO), and recommend and lead successful implementation of process improvements in line with the emerging Business Transformation
  2. Organize monthly meetings with the 15 Country Offices in MENA (FP nominated by COs management), including preparation of agenda, recording of minutes, preparing and delivering presentations underscoring pain points, challenges, areas of improvement, best practices and how best to support the field offices.
  3. Undertake desk research and analysis in the area of COs’ internal capacity enhancement and checking data and references to contribute to policy briefs, information materials, presentations and other visibility materials for reports, plans, studies, briefings, training, meetings/conferences, etc
  4. Identify and implement key performance management metrics into current and future programming and process design to enhance results-based programming.
  5. Assist with training Development, user documentation and system implementation based on COs requests and in coordination with relevant officers at RO level
  6. Facilitate knowledge sharing and knowledge management efforts, including through the production and maintenance of knowledge management tools related to the project in coordination with the Regional Staff Development Officer
  7. Prepare and send on a regular basis personalized correspondences to each country office, signaling discrepancies and advising on appropriate corrective actions to be taken.
  8. Provide general support to the Project Team in the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the project, in compliance with the donor administrative, legal and procedural requirements.
  9. Maintain an updated tracking of the project’s progress, and draft as well as contribute to regular reports in line with IOM standards and donor requirements.
  10. In close coordination with Project coordinator, ensure strategic and efficient management of project’s financial resources while advising on corrective actions and proposing alternative solutions to meet outcomes and needs of COs.
  11. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

The Translation Specialist/Communication Associate works in close collaboration with the Strategic Planning Partnership and Communications (SPPC), programme, projects, and operations teams to provide high-quality translation services to the entire CO, as well as some communications support.

Under the direct supervision of the SPPC Coordinator, the position is responsible for the following:

A. Summary of Key Functions:

· Written translation services for UNDP Sudan Country Office.

· Oral interpretation service (Arabic-English and English-Arabic).

· General support for UNDP communications activities.

B. Written Translation services for UNDP Sudan Country Office

· Translate a wide range and variety of documents (including, but not limited to, website content, press releases, newspapers, articles, excerpts from publications, official correspondence, official documents, applicable legislation etc.) from Arabic to English and English to Arabic to ensure a finished product ready for use and dissemination, as required.

· Resolve language and translation related issues (i.e. clarification on ambiguities, technical meaning, etc) in documents, rules, regulations, etc., through consultation with authors and relevant reference material.

· Assist in matters of terminology and style to ensure uniformity and quality of documents produced by the unit.

· Work with counterpart translators within the UNDP/UN family in Sudan from time to time and submit all translated documents for final translation, checking and proof-reading as necessary.

· Liaise with Arabic translation services in the UNDP HQ and the UN HQ offices for communication, as needed.

· Proof-read the Arabic translation work of other translators on UNDP CO related documents, as needed.

· Research specific subjects, including terminological research for incorporation into the Organization's terminology database.

C. Oral interpretation service (Arabic-English and English-Arabic) and assistance

· Interpretation - from Arabic to English and vice versa - at meetings with national interlocutors, federal and state governments, and other external partners in civil society and academia.

· Provide interpretation for key international non-Arabic CO staff.

· Other interpretation tasks as needed within project implementation.

· Attend meetings as part of a team, take notes - whether directly from statements delivered in English and Arabic or from the interpretation - and subsequently use the notes to produce draft summary records.

· Provide oral language support, interpreting and translation services for senior management at public events, as needed.

D. Planning and implementation of internal and external strategies for communications and outreach focusing on:

· Creating, promoting, and disseminating corporate advocacy materials, including for flagship initiatives and publications such as the Human Development Report.

· Supporting bespoke, multi-channel communications campaigns around key UNDP themes and activities.

· Ensuring strong understanding of UNDP’s work in the country through regular national, regional and global media contacts and the provision of newsworthy information to the media, the public, international partners and other audiences.

· Developing and implementing donor visibility campaigns and activities and supporting HQ-driven donor visibility efforts.

· Reporting on the effectiveness of communications activities and outreach, and proposing new innovations and approaches.

Under the direct supervision of Head of UXO Unit, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  1. Support the development of the M&E results framework to formulate the UXO Project Document 2022-26
  • The UN volunteer will work closely with UNDP CO staff, government counterparts, and technical advisors/consultants in UNDP to formulate the UXO Project Document.
  • The M&E results framework will need to be aligned with the results framework of new 10-year national UXO strategy - SPF III (2021-30), SDGs, UNPF 2022-26, UNDP Country Programme Document (CPD) 2022-26, findings from the Capacity Needs Assessment of NRA, and recommendations and lessons learnt from the Mid-Term Evaluation and Final Evaluation of the current Project (2017-21).

  1. Support the development of Monitoring & Evaluation functions at UXO Sector level, through the capacity building support to the National Regulatory Authority for the UXO/Mine Action Sector in Lao PDR (NRA).
    • In 2022, with the support of UNDP, the NRA Office is planning to create and develop a new Monitoring & Evaluation Unit, to benefit all operators / operatiions of the UXO Sector. The UN Volunteer will support UNDP and national counterparts in developing the unit’s systems and procedures.

  1. Support the review of the Lao National Unexploded Ordnance Programme (UXO Lao) Operational plans and the operational records in the national database (Information Management System for Mine Action = IMSMA).
    • The UN volunteer will support this in-depth joint review of the UXO Lao Operational Work Plans (Survey & Clearance tasks). S/he will also support the review within UXO Lao Vientiane of the operational records in IMSMA of UNDP-funded operations, before UXO Lao Vientiane transfers the data to the NRA National Database. This will include the desk review of all supporting documents, in preparation of the field monitoring missions, and to report after the field monitoring missions.

  1. Support the joint field monitoring missions among UNDP / NRA / UXO Lao.
    • The UN volunteer will be required to undertake missions to project sites as required and approved by the UNDP Country Office. Regular field monitoring of UXO operators would assist the NRA & UXO Lao to:
      • Reinforce good working relationships and mutual understanding between UXO operators, provincial NRA offices and local authorities;
      • Support in the assessment of the compliance of UXO operators with the activities and approaches outlined in the project documents and operational work plans;
      • Collect valuable local context information and feedback about the effects of implementation of the NRA’s official policies and technical guidelines, and how NRA policies interact with those of other Government of Lao PDR sectors;
      • Support the assessment of the satisfaction of local authorities and individual landowners with the UXO sector’s contribution to rural development and community health and safety;

Under the direct supervision of OCHA Senior Information Management Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Web Management - Manage content on relevant web platforms, provide overall quality control for the platform and ensure content is current, comprehensive and follows relevant metadata standards; work with external counterparts on related web platforms such as agency and cluster websites and ReliefWeb to facilitate cross-site search and interoperability.

    Data Management - Design, develop and manage databases, spreadsheets and other data tools; understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability; consolidate operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis.

    Data Analysis - Organize, design and carry out the evaluation and analysis of location specific datasets through meaningful statistical techniques; participate in the development and revision of data standards (e.g. the Humanitarian Exchange Language) and advise on the application of these standards into local systems and processes; participate in the development, implementation and management of new indicators, together with its accompanying data, to be included in a Common Humanitarian Dataset; understand, document and ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability.

    Assessment Analysis - Support assessment and needs analysis activities, including humanitarian needs overviews, secondary data reviews, preliminary scenario definitions and multi-cluster initial rapid assessments; provide advice on assessment design to ensure data quality; manage platforms and tools that support data collection and analysis such as KoBo Toolbox and Open Data Kit (ODK).

    Geographic Information System (GIS) & Mapping Develop and maintain spatial baseline and operational datasets in accordance with relevant standards and guidance; produce and update high-quality map products and online services; maintain a repository of spatial data and ensure that the data are documented and accessible to all humanitarian partners through local and/or online services.

    Visualization - Produce and update information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline; develop advocacy materials including posters, presentations and other visual materials.

    Emergency response - Be available for immediate deployment to support coordination and information management needs in emergencies in Pacific Island countries.

    Training - Support capacity building and humanitarian coordination in National Disaster management offices in Pacific Island countries. Train counterparts to use information management tools as platforms such as HumanitarianResponse.info.

  • Perform other related duties as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Drug Control and Crime Prevention Officer of the Data Development and Dissemination Section or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Data Science Specialist will:

  • Expand and refine terminology ‘dictionary’ key word search terms to improve data harvesting algorithms results and expand event identification with a focus on high frequency crime and drug statistics to monitor the impact of drug trafficking.
  • Develop software to access live unstructured data with pre-defined frequency and put in place necessary infrastructure for subsequent data handling and extraction.
  • Maintain and regularly update a central repository of sources used for ‘web scraping’ activities used to develop datasets.
  • Support communication and coordination with data harvesting providers and assist with the refinement of existing data sources.
  • Design and develop software applying Machine Learning techniques (including Natural Language Processing) for extracting quantitative information and other relevant variables from unstructured data (textual articles publicly available on the web); ensuring a high-quality output through ‘noise’ elimination’ and de-duplication from within the resulting dataset; conduct iterative testing of software.
  • Adapt Machine Learning models to account for multiple language text and drug/crime lexicon.
  • Ensure software’s full text extraction capabilities from relevant internet pages and related sources.
  • Maintain and regularly update the central repository of sources used for ‘web scraping’ activities used to develop datasets.
  • Set up categorial codes creations to convert text into qualitative information; utilize standardized vocabulary to parse expressions which indicate quantitative information.
  • Collaborate with DMP team members working on Platform front end production to define data schemas, including provision of insight on possible data structure changes needed, for automatic uploading of resulting datasets into the Platform and ensure quality assurance prior to Platform visualization.
