Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Head of Financial Investigations or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Legal Officer will:

  • support Investigators.
  • conduct legal research and analysis pertaining to the financial aspects of war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide.
  • attend interviews of witnesses and victims.
  • draft notes to file and records of meetings and interviews held with relevant groups and individuals, including victims and witnesses.
  • assist in the identification and collection of information from major crime scenes, including mass graves.
  • assist in the compilation, organization and storage of evidence and information obtained by their respective Field Investigation Units, in consultation with the Archive and Records Section and the Information Systems Management Unit of UNITAD; and
  • any other related duties as may be required.

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Manager, the National UN Volunteer will support:

  1. Online Volunteering Service Delivery (Quality and Speed):
  • Screen online volunteering opportunities and registration applications submitted by host organizations in a timely manner, ensuring required information is complete, assessing compliance with established criteria, e.g. adherence to UN policies, verifying applicant organizations’ goals and activities through Internet research.
  • Provide technical support such as guiding the users in the registration process or in joining an existing account in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and advisory on the formulation of online volunteering opportunities.
  • Support users in the selection process, and oversee online collaboration with volunteers, to ensure high level of satisfaction with the collaboration.
  • Assist in the issuance of certificates of appreciation for online volunteers at the end of the collaboration after ensuring that both parties have provided the required feedbacks on the OV platform.
  • Respond to users enquires and questions in a timely manner, and guide users on other website-related issues and problem solving.
  1. Support the daily promotion of the Online Volunteering service in the Arab States countries:
  • Lead demand generation of Online Volunteering opportunities by UN partners, public institutions, NGOs and CSOs to ensure an adequate number and quality of assignments is offered.
  • Promote online volunteering by contributing to networking efforts and building relationships with relevant organizations, organizing information meetings and workshops for target organizations and providing relevant information and assistance to achieve a better understanding of UNV Online Volunteering service.
  • Prepare and draft outreach materials such as tailored presentations and outreach messages.
  • Strengthening capacity of UNV personal through bilateral meetings with interested partners in using the Online Volunteering service.
  • Provide support and required knowledgebase for the FUs to enable them to successfully and efficiently promoting the OV service, through providing regional webinar and skype call meetings to ensure better understanding and awareness of the UNV Online Volunteering service.
  • Participate in promotional events that promote volunteer modalities of UNV among selected target groups.
  • Participate in the Regional Office communication efforts and products about UNV Online Volunteering service offering.
  • Support the layout and design Online Volunteering service information and outreach materials.

  1. Support the technical enhancements of the UNV Online Volunteering website
  • Support the IT enhancements of the OV platform (product development).
  • Perform regular testing for the system functionalities, and ongoing improvements on the stage/test environment and reports findings/bugs.

Under the direct supervision of Motor Transport Officer,Torit, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Conduct repair and maintenance services on United Nations Owned Equipment (UNOE) including 4x4s, Bus Light & Medium (Ford/Nissan), Trucks Medium/Heavy (Renault/Iveco) and Forklifts in accordance with manufacturer specifications, ensuring all safety procedures are followed when repairing and fitting replacement spare parts;
  • Perform routine/emergency related to electrical, vehicle air-conditioning and hydraulic repairs as well as maintenance of the United Nations Owned Equipment (UNOE);
  • Check and install Carlog as required, downloading data/updating vehicle Carlog system and following maintenance to the same;
  • Conduct vehicle/truck recoveries and roadside repairs in the field or area of responsibilities;
  • Assist in vehicle road test upon completion of vehicle maintenance;
  • Ensure that workshop is adequately equipped with safety tools/equipment, and ensure those equipment are in compliance with the approved existing health and safety guidelines and regulations;
  • Assist in vehicle maintenance and repair documentation, assigning spare parts and manpower cost to service orders through Umoja system;
  • Coach, mentoring and sharing experience with national colleagues to develop their work performance and professional skills in the respective specialized area;
  • Prepare and maintain warehouse inventory records, weekly and monthly technical reports and submitting to the workshop supervisor in accordance with the established UN procedures and deadlines;
  • Process of vehicle write-off cases in accordance to the established procedures;
  • Conduct vehicle inspection during handover of vehicles to UN staff. This inspection involves capturing of vehicle details , checking for damages, checking for missing tools and other fitted equipment eg. communication equipment;
  • Perform additional related duties as and when assigned by the Supervisor.

  • Degree or appropriate technical qualification in vehicle transport maintenance management, or equivalent combination of education, relevant professional training in ground transport operations.

Under the direct supervision of Chief of the Secretariat to the Governing Bodies, the International UN Youth Volunteer will:

  • Assist in the substantive preparation, organization and servicing of the sessions and intersessional work of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) and the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), including its subsidiary bodies, as well as the work of the Extended Bureau of the Commissions, the standing open-ended intergovernmental working group on improving the governance and financial situation of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and other intergovernmental UNODC meetings, and the United Nations Congresses on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice;
  • Assist in the conduct of meetings in a virtual or hybrid format by assisting with the registration and admission of participants, administration of presentations and videos, preparing invitations and other elements as required;
  • Prepare written and audio-visual materials promoting the work of the CND and the CCPCJ for print and online publication, including contributions to presentations, e-learning formats, flyers, banners, videos, webinars;
  • Assist in the posting of information on the websites and social media accounts maintained by the Secretariat;
  • Conduct the translation of documents and websites from English into Arabic as well as with the websites in those languages;
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Sous la supervision directe du lead de l’unité ODD intergration et innovation, le/la Volontaire des Nations Unies effectuera les tâches suivantes:

1) Soutien au fonctionnement efficace et efficient des unités (Accelerator Lab + unité d'intégration et d'innovation des ODD):

  • Assure la pleine conformité des activités administratives avec les règles, règlementations, politiques et stratégies de l'ONU / PNUD;
  • Responsable de la collecte des factures et du dépôt des documents pour approbation et par la suite, traitement dans ATLAS ou envoi aux unités concernées au sein de l'unité des opérations;
  • Télécharge des fichiers électroniques et vérifie les résultats dans le système de destination (ATLAS);
  • Répond à l'état des transactions du client et à d'autres demandes de renseignements;
  • Contribution à la production de documents des unités respectives indiquant les procédures opérationnelles standard (SOPs).

2) Appui aux services administratifs et logistiques (événements et voyages)

  • Soutenir les activités de renforcement des capacités et les conférences en prenant les dispositions logistiques, en s'engageant avec les facilitateurs, les traiteurs et les hôtes;
  • Arranger les horaires en assurant la communication avec les participants sur leur disponibilité;
  • Assurer la liaison avec les points focaux du budget et section sur les coûts et les besoins;
  • Préparer et mettre à jour les agendas des réunions et événements liés aux engagements de groupes de travail;
  • Fournir une assistance dans la logistique des voyage des membres du personnel des unités (reseravtion de chauffeurs, hôtels….etc.)
  • Assurer la liaison avec les points focaux de voyage concernés pour s'assurer que l'organisation obtient le meilleur service et le meilleur prix pour tous les voyages;
  • Informer les membres du personnel sur les questions liées aux questions administratives connexes telles que les visas, les autorisations de sécurité et les procédures de documentation;
  • Extrait, saisit, mets à jour et vérifie l'exactitude des dossiers de voyage dans le système de voyage de l'organisation (ATLAS) pour garantir des transactions précises liées aux frais de voyage et aux déplacements du personnel;
  • Surveiller la certification des voyages et fait rapport à l'équipe.

3) Suivi budgétaire

  • Faire le monitoring les budgets et les dépenses financières des unités, assure le respect des règles et règlements du PNUD, tient le superviseur informé et conseillé sur les actions de décision / suivi, y compris le contrôle régulier de l'exécution du budget sur ATLAS.
  • Fournir un soutien pour la révision / préparation du budget, l'état d'exécution, la détermination de la position d'utilisation du financement, la fermeture opérationnelle et financière.
  • Préparer et maintenir les dossiers, les documents et les plans de contrôle pour le suivi budgétaire de la mise en oeuvre du projet.
  • Effectuer des transactions dans ATLAS concernant les subventions pour sa section, telles que l'enregistrement des attributions de subventions et le suivi des subventions expirant.
  • Assistance à la préparation du budget, fourniture d'informations pour l'audit.

4) Communications et flux de travail

  • Facilite les communications et le flux de travail des unités respectives pour améliorer l'efficacité et la rapidité des opérations et des résultats;
  • Gère la correspondance entrante et sortante, les courriels et les appels téléphoniques.Communique les informations de routine et certaines informations non routinières relatives au travail de l'équipe;
  • Établit et maintient les systèmes de classement et de référence du bureau, à la fois traditionnels et numériques; et s'assure que les sites Web inter / intra-net sont à jour et exacts.

5) Procurement

  • Création de réquisitions sur ATLAS pour divers biens et services selon les instructions des unités et suivi avec les unités opérationnelles appropriées (achat, financement), comme indiqué dans les SOP des achats de bureau
  • Facilite le traitement des contrats des consultants et partenaires externes qui fournissent un service aux unités. Cela comprend la préparation et le classement des documents, le remplissage des formulaires et modèles nécessaires, le téléchargement des termes de référence dans ATLAS et la prise des dispositions logistiques nécessaires.
  • Maintient des listes de fournisseurs à jour et assure la liaison avec les opérations pour la création de nouveaux fournisseurs si nécessaire

Within delegated authority, the UNV Nurse will be responsible for the following duties:

Attend the day-to-day activities at the clinic on a full-time basis and go on-call 24/7 when required. Respond to emergency calls and assist the Medical Officers in providing medical care. Perform ECG, and other medical exams such as blood tests, glucose, cholesterol, and urine exams, as required. Maintain and organize the medical clinic for any emergency, identifies and plans for clinics’ required consumables/ supplies and equipment requirements, and raise lists accordingly. Assess the needs of clients visiting the clinic ensuring good bedside manners, provide care/advice accordingly, and facilitate referral to the UN Medical Officer/ identified level 2 hospital. Assist in providing health education and participate in addressing work environment, occupational health, and other specific health issues. Maintains medical inventory and supplies and distributes medical supplies to outstations. Assist in the pharmacy, arrangement of the drugs, and medical supplies. Assist/escort in medevac procedures, arrange and prepare the body of the deceased before repatriation of the dead body. Performs other duties as and when required.

Bachelor degree or equivalent

]Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in clinical, intensive care, and health administration. Experience in UN mission administration with knowledge and understanding of relevant UN administrative policies and procedures is an asset. Experienced in planning, training, and responding mass casualty is desirable.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Medical doctor will:

Responsibilities

Within the limits of delegated authority, the Medical officer will be responsible for performing the following duties: Clinical Duties:

1) Attend the United Nations Clinic on a full-time basis

2) Respond to acute emergencies in line with international protocols such as advance cardiovascular life support and advanced trauma life support management or Pre-Hospital Trauma life support

3) Be able to do triage and primary stabilization

4) Undertake day-to-day clinical duties, e.g. walk-in clinic, pre-placement and periodic medical examinations and immunizations;

5) Provide health education;

6) Participate in addressing work environment and occupational health issues

7) Undertake medical examinations for UN personnel.

8) Diagnose and recommend treatment to all staff visiting the Clinic daily.

9) Be on call during and outside office hours to observe and treat emergencies in the UN Clinic. Undertake house calls when required

10) Responsible for entry and periodic medical examinations for United Nations staff members who choose to use the UN Clinic for their examinations;

11) To make follow up on chronic and provide relatively accurate medical advisory. Medico Administrative Duties:

1. Promote proactive occupational health policies and best practices and procedures in the medical services in conjunction with Administration. This will include outreach to staff and dependents in the areas of preventative health.

2. Ensure that appropriate medical records are kept in a strictly confidential manner in hard copies or mediate software

3. Being part of the emergency response team and will as such work closely with partner departments in implementing casevac and mass casualty response.

4. Liaise with other dispensaries, host-nation medical facilities, and medical facilities abroad to coordinate medical evacuations.

5. Follow the United Nations established policies and procedures regarding medical clearances, sick leave, and medical evacuations. 6.Recommend medical evacuation when required to(the doctor recommends as the medical expert, submit evacuation request to UN medical Director for authorization, and facilitate medical evacuations of UN staff ). Responsible for all paperwork and reporting procedures for medical evacuations in line with UN rules and procedures.

7. Ensure proper follow up on all cases

8. Responsible for establishing good relations with reliable hospitals, private medical facilities, and blood banks and local physicians.

9. Keep constant contact with the United Nations Designated Examining Physicians to facilitate their availability as and when required;

10. Ensure that proper medical records are kept in Earthmen, in a strictly confidential manner.

11. Maintain emergency medical supplies and equipment to be used in case of emergency;

12. Replenish first aid kits and other essential medical supplies kept in other duty stations within the country

13.Recommend procurement of vaccines, medical supplies, and equipment, and ensure that inventory is kept.

14. Maintain medical records of all United Nations personnel and advise health precautionary steps to new staff members; already include above 15. Prepare and send periodic (quarterly) reports of functions, visits, medical evacuations, and treatments at the UN Clinic to Medical Officer; included below.

16. Advise on health precautionary steps to be undertaken at the duty station, and perform any other duties as considered necessary by the United Nations medical Director. Supervisory Administration:

1. Supervise, distribute work to the nurse (s) and other staff of the United Nations Clinic;

2. Manage day-to-day mission medical support operations by ensuring the availability of supplies and proper functioning of medical equipment; 3.Ensure that appropriate training programs are implemented to maintain and develop the medical capabilities (e.g. health education, HIV/AIDS prevention, first aid, and CPR).

4. Responsible for regular reporting on the UN Clinic activities, medical facilities available locally, and other statistical information as may be required. General: •Performs other related duties as required.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of The Durable Solutions Officer or The RSD Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV interpreter will:

Be assigned to work with one of the Protection Units, namely either RSD, Resettlement, Child Protection/BID or Community Based Protection. The interpreter will report to the Head of the pertinent Unit. The Interpreter and Translator will provide remote operational support to protection, refugee status determination, resettlement, child protection/BID through language support services for persons of concern to UNHCR Libya. The Interpreter will translate oral statements remotely on TEAMs/Skype between English and Tigrinya and/or between English and Somali for RSD, RST, BID interviews as well as for counselling sessions. The interpreter/translation may be asked to translate written documents or statements as necessary.

Major Responsibilities:

Act as an interpreter during RSD, RST and BID interviews, training, and counselling, including counselling, for UNHCR Libya. The interviews take place remotely from Tunisia via Skype/TEAMs with the persons of concern in Libya. The interpreter will also translate documents from target languages (Tigrinya/Somali) to English and/or Arabic language and vice versa as necessary. In the fulfilment of his/her duties the interpreter must abide by relevant standards. In particular:
The interpreter is required to read, understand and comply with UNHCR’s Code of Conduct and realizes that he/she shall be expected to work in the spirit of the principles set forth therein.
