Under the direct supervision of the One UN House Manager, the Facilities Management Assistant will undertake the following tasks:

  • Supervise maintenance of all One UN House building facilities;
  • Plan, design, supervise and coordinate small/medium construction projects in One UN House;
  • Supervise all assigned building maintenance, construction and engineering job requests and ensure the availability of resources to deliver quality services. Those works include: all carpentry, plumbing, masonry, sign making, and painting works done to One UN House facilities;
  • Perform regular building inspections of all One UN House building facilities and prepare reports on repairs done and resources needed to carry out maintenance/repair work;
  • Supervise the works assigned to the outsourced maintenance contractors to ensure efficiency and coordinate with the contractor’s staff to maximize productivity;
  • Coordinate with other BFMU team to ensure that all necessary repairs and alteration of One UN House facilities are completed within a specified time frame;
  • Prepare necessary work and maintenance schedules, spreadsheets and presentations required during the work;
  • Prepare scope of works for maintenance projects, minor engineering projects and service contracts;
  • Prepare and process requisitions for supply of tools, engineering materials / spares for building management staff and maintenance of One UN House facilities;
  • Maintain inventory list of assets/items related to building maintenance always updated;
  • Carry out technical evaluations for requisitioned materials for maintenance works and service contracts;
  • Coordinate space allocation and relocation in ONE UN House and make required changes and updates in shared space plan;
  • Facilitate timely provision and preparation of space/rooms/venues for meetings, workshops and official functions; coordinate with focal persons in order to provide requirements for the functions;
  • Supervise implementation of the services contracts/LTAs of the ONE UN House related to services contracts and LTAs falling under his domain such as: fumigation, cleaning/housekeeping, firefighting system, gardening and garbage collection/removal;
  • Plan and supervise quarterly disposal / removal of damaged items from One UN House.
  • Monitor cleanliness of the One UN House facilities, and promptly handle any deviations from the set requirements with the cleaning contractor.
  • Effectively attend all incoming Service Requests and report back to the requestors; Maintain written records of SR completed, being part of monthly SR report.
  • Coordinate substantive administrative activities related to his/her functional area;
  • Raise requisitions, certify works completion, perform R&I function and initiate Payment Requests for the works completed for building management domain of One Un House.
  • Maintain and monitor the status list of POs and Shopping Letters attributed to the building management area;
  • Process all petty cash purchases, as directed by the One UN House Manager;
  • Ensure effective supervision, guidance and training of staff;
  • Develop and maintain procedures (e.g. internal reporting) and operational arrangements;
  • Deputize for other BFMU staff during periods of their leave or unplanned absence;
  • Promote health and safety awareness amongst all unit staff, implement safety control measures to all staff, provide safety equipment and gear to all unit tradesmen;
  • Perform any other related tasks as may be required and assigned by ONE UN House Manager.
Bachelor degree or equivalent

  • At least 5 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in facilities management & civil engineering or other relevant areas;
  • Experience with UN is an asset, as is experience working with other international development organization;

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Environment, Climate Change and Inclusive Sustainable Development team leader or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer, Programme Analyst in Energy and Environment will be expected to assist with the following activities and tasks:

  • Delivery, monitoring and reporting of Climate Promise and Environment related projects
  • Support the country office in advising the Government on the development and implementation of policies, strategies and programme in the fields of environment, renewable energy and climate change mitigation;
  • Review and revise workplans and budgets and provide inputs to the preparation of results-based work plans;
  • Support the day-to-day implementation of climate promise, energy and environment related projects if needed;
  • Support the preparation of project progress reports and related presentations, briefings, knowledge products and relevant documents as required;
  • Support the quality assurance of the CO energy portfolio through the substantive and financial monitoring of projects, including through filed visits, to identify operational bottlenecks and develop recommendations for effective solutions;
  • Working closely with technical advisors on energy and climate change in the Regional Service Centre for Africa (RSCA), suport the identification and development of new energy programmess and funding opptunities to support government to access fincancing on climate change mitigaton and energy;
  • Liaise with the regional technical advisors/hub focal points on the portfolio implementation progress and advise of any deviations from the project plan;
  • Manage information flows and oversee project implementation in cooperation with the ACSD office and regional technical advisors/hub focal points;
  • Support the recruitment of consultants and the administration of contracts through: drafting TORs, finalizing advertisements, screening, long and short listing, interviews;
  • Maintain records of project files and other supporting documents;
  • Prepare project completion reports and ensure compliance with contractual obligations;
  • Provide strategic support to all aspects of the energy portfolio through anticipatory action, proactive monitoring, data mining, production of studies and processes supporting the alignment of the portfolio targets with the UNDP Strategic Plan;

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Senior Program Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Information Management Officer support the programme and the information management team in the following main duties:

  • Ensure proper implementation of the information management system in UNMAS Mali, including system development, testing, and quality assurance of all information management products.
  • Provide support in the management of the transition between the Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA), including all add-on databases, to the new IMSMA Core.
  • Provide support in the development, testing, debugging, and implementation of IMSMA Core and ensuring that the overall system is operational and meets the operational needs of the programme.

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Protection Officer based in Goz Beida and in collaboration with the Operation Data Management Officer based in N’Djamena, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Manage the use, maintenance and technical support of databases used in the operation (registration, voluntary repatriation, resettlement, etc.) including planning and overseeing data collection, input and verifications; production of standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Manage the use, maintenance and technical support of UNHCR Bioemtrics and Identity Management System (BIMS)
  • Analyze and respond to report requests from UNHCR staff, local governments, partners, donors and Headquarters in agreement with his supervisor.
  • Facilitate and /or undertake additional data collection activities including planning and coordinating data collection methodologies and analysis with relevant staff of other offices in the country, Regional Hub and/or Headquarters, as applicable.
  • Be responsible for the registration (“ProGres” database), oversee data input and reporting in close collaboration with other UNHCR colleagues (protection, registration, community services, etc.).
  • Assist in training of UNHCR staff as well as staff members of implementing partners in relevant aspects of data management.
  • Liaise with his supervisor on new reporting requirements and procedures as needed;
  • Conduct data collection audits in order to ensure that no unnecessary data collection is occurring and to ensure that all necessary data is being captured;
  • Assist in development of new data collection and data analysis tools, including efficient data capturing forms;
  • Create and maintain databases and spread sheets that meet operational requirements.
  • Contribute to designing appropriate registration strategies and methodology to meet standards.
  • Ensure that statistics and other reports are produced and shared on a timely basis.

Sous l’autorité et la supervision du Conseiller Technique Principal (CTP), le VNU international spécialiste de communication, sensibilisation et formation est chargé(e) des tâches suivantes :

  • Contribuer à l’élaboration et à la mise en œuvre des plans de communication et de sensibilisation de la CEI dans sa zone.
  • Participer aux activités des agents de la CEI en charge de la communication, de la sensibilisation et de la formation.
  • Servir de point focal des thématiques suivantes concernant les partis politiques, la société civile, le Genre et la jeunesse.
  • Servir de Reporting Officer du projet PEACE au niveau de sa zone et faire des rapports périodiques pour le CTP.

Summary of Assigned Duties (Describe what the incumbent has to do to achieve main objectives; include main achievements expected):

  1. Develop and implement communications plans which includes a timeline of key communications products.
  2. Identify subjects/stories of interest pertaining to WHO efforts at the country or Regional level to develop communications products such as feature stories, press releases and social media posts.
  3. Work together with WHO Country office and the Regional Communications Team to conceptualize a set of new advocacy documents to inform stakeholders and the general public about WHO's response, co-develop, as relevant, high quality media tools, including audio-visual, photographic and printed materials, television and radio programmes, multimedia presentations, social media, videos and press releases, bulletins etc., to promote WHO's visibility, achievements and success stories.
  4. Liaise with the press/media to advocate and disseminate information on WHO work as well as relevant events such as WHO campaigns. Organize interviews and filming opportunities to support high-visibility of WHO achievements through television, radio and newspapers, etc.
  5. Manage the development and maintenance of content for the country website and social media platforms, in compliance with guidelines and standards used throughout the Organization, to ensure consistency of approach. Critically review and improve contents.
  6. Prepare communication and advocacy products and statements to be used by the Resource Mobilization team in convincing and encouraging donors to rapidly fund the overall health sector response to affected populations.
  7. Collaborate with all relevant actors, including the health cluster, regional and field offices, other WHO departments, UN agencies, and other partners to identify and create communication opportunities and prepare communication campaigns on specific topics.
  8. Represent the WHO Country Office (WCO) in the UN Communication Group and provide appropriate technical support as required.
  9. Organize advocacy events, press interactions and meetings to increase the visibility of WHO and knowledge about the work of the WCO;
  10. Support Ministry of Health (MoH) public communications during key health events including health emergencies, through the development of talking points, press releases, press statements and other media products.
  11. Perform any other communication specific related duties, as required by the functional supervisor.

Under the overall direction of the Mission’s Chief Medical Officer, the UNV Medical Nurse will perform the following tasks:
•Assist medical doctor(s) in the provision of both primary and secondary health care to all Mission: personnel, at the Missions medical facilities;
•Provide necessary primary care for minor injuries;
•Administer vaccination to UN Mission personnel;
•Participate in the stabilization of emergency cases;
•Provide Health Education and advise to the staff in addition to group health briefings for MINUSCA
Personnel;
•Requisition, storage and maintenance of accurate records of medical equipment, drugs and consumables in the health facility;
•Conduct medical escorts for very sick UN personnel transiting between different medical facilities;
•Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations;
Calling for assistance from health care support personnel;
•Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential;
•Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records;
•Participate in other health activities and related duties, as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer;
•When working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-)governmental counterparts, the
incumbent should set aside dedicated time for capacity development through on-the-job training,
coaching and mentoring.
Technical/Vocational diploma

A fully registered Medical Nurse with a Diploma in Nursing from an accredited medical institution of a country recognised by the United Nations. Additional qualification in Emergency Medical Care is an advantage.
