  • Keep abreast all developments in operations to prepare appropriate briefings and reports.
  • Prepare periodic reports, i.e. donor updates, internal sitreps, briefing notes for senior managers, and activity-specific reports as required.
  • Prepare funding submissions for donors, and draft any required after-action reports.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with the government, NGOs, and UN agencies to ensure cooperation in inter-related activities.
  • Support the UNHCR-led Cluster activities by preparing and distributing minutes, assisting in the organization of meetings; occasionally chairing meetings, and serving as the general secretariat for the relevant Cluster.
  • Support the supervisor in preparation for meetings and missions drafting of talking points.
  • Organize and accompany missions for VIP visitors, delegates to visit refugee sites or the activities of UNHCR implementing partners.
  • If there is no Public Information (PI) focal point in country, serve as PI focal point, contributing to and coordinating press events, interviews, PI missions and other activities related to information dissemination to the general public to promote UNHCR activities.
Bachelor degree or equivalent

Type of Degree: International Relations, Political Science, Journalism, Communications, Business of Public Administration.

A minimum 2 years of experience in a field related to external relations, communications, media relations or reporting.

Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

This UNV position will provide to the incumbent opportunity to improve understanding of concrete implementation of education policies and strategies. It will give her/him means to feed her/him academic reflection and such as education information management to finally formulate innovative outputs. Alongside with programming, the position aims at providing the Education Programme with ingenuous and simple feedback for enhancing programming process through the contribution to establishment of a mechanism of proper data collection and analysis as well as reporting and knowledge management. Therefore, the incumbent will have the opportunity to participate to programmatic field visits to discover what is at stake in both development and humanitarian contexts.

She/he will gain an understanding of cross sector work and will have opportunity to work as an insider for few days in other sections mainly protection, wash, nutrition and C4D.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Education, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • the collection of data on different education projects, including emergency interventions and with a strong gender prospective;
  • Assist the EMIS Specialist and the education in emergency specialist at national level in setting up and filling a mechanism of education data monitoring including in an innovative perspective, for example based on rapid pro;
  • the analysis and development of periodic reports and knowledge management document related to education programme interventions;
  • ensure double check of the accuracy of the information.
Master degree or equivalent

The incumbent must be a dynamic, multi-functional person, who supports UNICEF with accuracy, professionalism, dedication and client orientation.

  • Advanced/ university degree (Master’s or higher) in relevant background in Education or Social Science;

  • Interest demonstrated in developing country work and emergency is considered
  • Computer skills: Good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and any other data including internet navigation, office applications with advanced knowledge of social media, webtools, website design and creation; technical competence in producing for various media formats (print, web, social media);
