State of the World’s Volunteerism online space goes live!

The online space features original research, new insights, and opportunities to collaborate in the lead up to the 2018 launch of State of the World's Volunteerism Report. It pulls together a picture of what is happening in the world in terms of volunteering and brings together the voices of key players in peace and development efforts.  What are the latest trends in volunteering? What is the contribution of the work that volunteers around the world are doing? What do experts, government officials, volunteers have to say about taking volunteerism forward?

Every three years, the UN Volunteers produces the State of the World’s Volunteerism Report, a flagship UN publication developed to strengthen understanding on volunteerism and demonstrate its universality, scope and reach in the twenty first century.   Watch the video below to learn more about the Report.

“The 2018 State of the World’s Volunteerism Report will provide new evidence on the distinctive contributions of ordinary people through volunteering, and how they enable communities to cope with crisis,” explains UN Volunteers Executive Coordinator Olivier Adam.

“Ultimately it will provide recommendations on how governments and other actors can best support the types of volunteerism that matter most for communities in crisis especially how to nurture the longer term, preventative and inclusive volunteerism which provides the best foundation for community resilience.”
