Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Head of office the duties of the Planning Officer will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the head of office in all planning and programming initiatives;

  • Contribute to development and implementation field office work plans;

  • Provide technical assistance to integrated field coordination structures at field office level;

  • Assist the head of office and sections in the development of high quality quick impact projects and community violence reduction projects;

  • Assist the head of office in the monitoring of quick impact projects and community violence reduction projects;

  • Assist the head of office in the coordination of sections and components contributions to the implementation of MONUSCO mandate at field office level;

  • Conduct research on relevant subject matters as determined by the head of office and write initial drafts;

  • Provide recommendations on design of specific planning tools and mechanisms, in line with policy and best practice, to meet the needs of the field office;

  • Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Assistant Communications Liaison Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Assistant Admin Coordinator will:

  • Provide support to ensure day to day management of all logistics and administrative arrangements for Iumi Waka Co-Working Space.
  • Support organization of events including training, conferences, meetings, seminars, lectures and innovation challenge related activities as appropriate, and act as contact point for event speakers and participants; and
  • Provide support to maintain and update existing calendar for bookings and events at Iumi Waka Co-Working Space
  • Provide support to organize and host trainings, workshops, and events at the Iumi Waka Co-Working Space
  • Provide support to maintain visibility and communications for Iumi Waka Co-Working Space.
  • Assist in maintaining effective communication between Iumi Waka Youth Co Working Space and the National Key Implementing Partner: SIG Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labor, and Immigration.
  • Provide support to ensure that the youth co working space is open, accessible, and all-inclusive for young people during official opening hours.
  • Provide support to schedule and ensure regular maintenance, servicing and cleaning of the co-working space.
  • Provide support to supervise and oversee any work related to Iumi Waka Co-Working Space.
  • Support supervisor with drafting and documentation of reports.
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

  • At least 2 years of volunteer work experience at the national and/or international level in Youth led community work, communications or admin support or other relevant programmes; experience with community based youth associations is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.

Description of task

Under the supervision of the Project Management Office’s Directors and under the direct leadership of the PMO’s Project Manager, the National UNV will undertake the following tasks to support the project’s Implementation and management:

  • Coordinating and developing detailed annual work plans, making them conform to the project's expected results and outputs.
  • Managing the project budget under the supervision of the project manager.
  • Consolidate all the financial information inside and outside and report directly to PMO’s Project Manager and Project Management Office’s Directors.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documents including event brief, project progress report, etc.
  • Keeping financial and procurement archives and facilitating the project audit.
  • Assisting project monitoring and evaluation, internal and external assessment, sharing experience and lessons learned from project implementation.
  • Assisting in the preparation and organization of international procurement conference and capacity building workshops.
  • Providing information on the project and consultation services to entperises participating in the project activities.
  • Reviewing and analyzing capacity gaps and needs from enterprises in order to develop the platform for international procurement services.
  • Analyzing the enterprises’ data regularly in order to develop plans and suggestions for the improvement of the customized procurement services.
  • Ensuring full compliance of project activities with NIM (National Implementation) policies, rules and regulations.
  • Contributing to knowledge networking and communication outreaching.
  • Providing administrative and programming support to project implementation.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Management, Political Science, International Development, Economics, Social Science or related fields is highly favoured. Candidates with undergraduate degrees with extensive relevant experience will also be considered.
