Description of task

Sous la supervision générale de la Représentante Résidente et la supervision directe du chargé de l’Unité population et développement, le/la Volontaire des Nations Unies effectuera les tâches suivantes :

  1. Contribution technique et appui programmatique aux activités du volet PD : 50%
    1. Assister le NPO Population Policy Specialist dans la programmation, le suivi, l’évaluation stratégiques des PTAs du volet PD, en facilitant la soumission à temps des WPRs et DAFs de tous les partenaires du volet PD.
    2. Préparer et participer à la revue des documents techniques et apporter sa contribution ;
    3. Apporter un appui technique à l’élaboration des propositions de projet de l’unité PD ;
    4. Préparer les briefings note pour les activités en relation avec population et développement ;
    5. Préparer et participer aux réunions du groupe sectoriel des PTF sur la statistique et produire les PV ;
    6. Préparer et participer aux réunions du comité de pilotage de l’EDS continue ;
    7. Préparer et participer aux réunions de préparation du RGPH 2023 ;
    8. Préparer et participer aux différentes réunions avec les partenaires et produire les PV ;
    9. Préparer les lettres de réponses des courriers adressé à l’unité P&D ;
    10. Contribuer au suivi de la mise en œuvre du plan d’action de la CIPD+25 ;
    11. Contribuer à la préparation des activités de mobilisation des ressources et d’engagement des partenaires.

  1. Contribution aux activités de suivi évaluation, appui opérationnel, plaidoyer/partenariat et communication dans le volet PD : 40%
    1. Contribuer aux activités de planification avec partenaires d’exécution ;
    2. Contribuer au suivi de la mise en œuvre des PTA et à la revue trimestrielle des rapports de progrès des PTAs ;
    3. Préparer les mémos de transmission des demandes d’avance de fonds ;
    4. Exploiter les rapports des partenaires de mise en œuvre pour une documentation des bonnes pratiques ;
    5. Contribuer aux activités de communication en relation avec les autres unités ;
    6. Contribution à la production de Policy Brief pour éclairer les discussions stratégiques nationales avec les principaux décideurs ;
    7. Participer à la production d’articles de presse sur le RGPH 2023 ;
    8. Faire le suivi et documenter les activités des réseaux nationaux sur les questions de population et développement.
    9. Préparer et participer aux activités préparatoires des missions de terrain et ateliers de l’unité population et développement et y prendre part.
    10. Appuyer le renseignement trimestriel de la matrice de planification du bureau.
    11. Assister le NPO PD à bien documenter la performance des IPs du volet PD (DDCH, ANSD, CREFAT, RPPD etc)

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of head of reproductive health unit, reproductive health specialist the national UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

· Closely with the program analysts and specialists ensuring the implementation of the program activities for the assigned projects (FP, HIV/AIDS, MH, MISP, RHCS & STI), through regular follow up with the implementing partners, advocacy efforts, coordination mechanisms and providing technical assistance

· Facilitate the work of consultants, advisors and experts involved in the implementation of the program under her/his responsibility

· Assist the program analysts and specialist in developing a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework for each grant/project,

· Support the program analysts and specialist to analyze and report on implementation of the assigned program activities, measure progress, identify obstacles/challenges in the implementation of projects that needs to be addressed and document the impact and achievements of each project in line with the annual work plans targets, and UNFPA strategic targets,

· Provide on timely basis up to date summary sheet for progress against all relevant indicators at both outputs and process levels including reproductive health commodities, to facilitate the relevant decisions associated with planning, reporting, funding allocation, and prioritization.

· Support the program analysts and specialists in the analysis of processed data and information and perform data quality and consistency control to analyze and report on implementation of the assigned program/project activities, measure progress, identify obstacles/challenges in the implementation of projects that need to be addressed and document the impact and achievement of each project in line with the annual work plans targets, and UNFPA strategic targets,

· Contribute to development of reports to SRH programme in humanitarian settings including Emergency RH Kits Coordinate with partners to ensure that monitoring system are properly designed, and that data collection and analysis from field visits are coordinated and standardized to feed into to program performance monitoring.

· Build the capacity of implementing partners on grant management with focus on Midwifery portfolio including monitoring and reporting (through formal and intensive on-job trainings);

· In the event of establishing an SRH WG: Design, build, and maintain health information systems for the SRH Working Group to enable regular SRH data compilation across the Health Cluster Facilitate information exchange to promote inter cluster activities including but not limited to: GBV Sub cluster, & Health Cluster.

· Provide other forms of assistance as required and instructed by the direct supervisors

· Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work.   • Generar contenidos sobre los aprendizajes del Laboratorio de Aceleración desde un lenguaje y referencias que coincidan con los públicos objetivos. Específicamente:
    • Redactar contenido para diversas piezas de comunicación (e.g. artículos, blogs, ensayos fotográficos, videos, infografías, posts en redes sociales) de alto impacto que ayuden a la divulgación de los aprendizajes del Laboratorio en sus diversos ciclos de aprendizaje a las diferentes audiencias para quienes estos aprendizajes son de valor e interés.
    • Crear todo contenido para la página web y mantener el micrositio de internet del Laboratorio con información actualizada y relevante para su audiencia. Para ello, trabajará de forma cercana con el área de Comunicaciones de la Oficina País y de la Red de Laboratorios de Aceleración para crear un flujo constante de contenidos y un calendario de publicaciones.
    • Generar piezas con narrativas de alto impacto para comunicar los aprendizajes del Laboratorio de Aceleración a sus diferentes audiencias y a través de diversos medios (e.g. infografías, manuales, fotografías, comics, piezas editoriales).

Condiciones de servicio para voluntarios nacionales

El beneficio principal de prestar servicio como Voluntario/a ONU es la satisfacción personal que brinda la asignación de voluntariado, puesto que implica repercutir de manera positiva en favor de la paz y el desarrollo. Sin embargo, el programa Voluntarios de las Naciones Unidas ofrece apoyo durante su asignación de varias maneras.

El programa UNV cubrirá:

  • El viaje de traslado al lugar de la asignación y subsidio de instalación y repatriación (si es aplicable) serán provistos en el caso de que el destino de trabajo no se encuentre a una distancia razonable del local de residencia del voluntario.
  • Un subsidio VLA (Volunteer Living Allowance) de MXN 24,000 que será proporcionado mensualmente para cubrir los costos de alojamiento, vivienda y gastos normales de subsistencia. Se incluye también seguros de vida, salud e invalidez permanente, así como un subsidio de reinstalación después de un servicio satisfactorio. Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Snr Protection Cluster Coordination Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

In particular, s/he will:

  • Provide support to the protection sector in advocating for the rights of the displaced populations in North East Nigeria by advocating for the fundamental human rights of persons of concern to UNHCR; In performing protection work, inculcate a right based approach in the provision of services, advocate for the respect international human rights law; international humanitarian law and refugee law.
  • Draft, formulate policies, guidelines, advocacy notes, position papers and provide guidance aimed at improving the delivery of protection services, by the protection sector in keeping with Global Protection Cluster standards.
  • Foster and create strategic partnerships with the government, INGO, civil society groups, human rights institutions; to advance the rights of the most vulnerable groups amongst the IDP, host communities community-based, local, national, and international organizations.
  • Promote and ensure protection mainstreaming by integrating Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) approach across all sectors as health, WASH, nutrition and food security.
  • Coordinate (under the supervision of the sector coordinator) multi sector needs assessments to the field and liaise closely with the local coordination groups established at various Local Government Areas.
  • Provide support to the coordination mechanisms in place including attending the monthly meetings convened by the subsectors and AoR, CP, HLP and GBV and work closely with all the subsector leads;
  • Establish a database on Protection of Civilians to record civilian casualties analyze trends of the effects of the protracted conflict on civilians. This database will inter-alia provide evidence-based protection monitoring to improve quality of reports produced by PSWG;
  • Support the PSWG implement the HCT Centrality of Protection Strategy; plan regular monitoring of the performance indicators; lobby members to provide updates on progress on a monthly basis; Liaise and network closely with Areas Of Responsibility on Child Protection, CP, Housing Land and Property, HLP; Gender Based Violence, GBV and Humanitarian Mine Action, HMA as well as other stakeholders to improve referral mechanisms and pathways to enhance coordinated responses and improved service delivery;
  • Collect, collate, analyze information and manage data, work closely with information management team to streamline information and make it user friendly for all protection actors;
  • Prepare regular situation reports, flash information, ad hoc reports, Protection Analysis Framework (PAF) thematic and analytical reports including the Secretary-General’s Annual Report;
  • Provide briefing notes, draft talking points for senior management and give presentation to donors and visiting missions to the North East on the operational context;
  • Collaborate with all sections in UNHCR to understand the operational context; the UNV will also receive guidance from the Senior Protection Officer and National Sector Coordinator and the NPSWG Secretariat in Abuja and international colleagues in Maiduguri

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Senior Shelter Cluster Coordinator or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Associate Settlement Planning officer will undertake the following tasks:

In particular, s/he will

  1. Coordinate and lead the shelter cluster technical working group on sites and settlement planning, refining the scope of the WG, defining and implementing a workplan and plan of action.
  2. Establish systems to identify track and monitor emergency settlement planning needs and activities across NE Nigeria. This will focus on displacement sites, both existing and requiring decongestion strategy.
  3. Work with other clusters to ensure that relevant standards are developed adapted and effectively communicates.
  4. Develop sound technical guidance on site planning including emergency minimum standards with a view of long-term implications and future urban development.
  5. Actively work to ensure that physical site planning takes account protection concerns, including where relevant, deconfliction and security, access to services for those living with disabilities and reduced risk of GBV issues relating to poor site planning.
  6. Ensure that each site has planning to reduce key risks including wind, flooding and fire.
  7. Build partner technical capacity, systems and tools in site planning through coaching, training and workshops

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Admin Officer and the overall supervision of the Division of Information Systems and Telecoms (DIST) Chief ICT Field Operations, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Oversee daily Business-As-Usual operational decisions, including incident, problem, change, service request, and asset management.
  • Prepare an IT Operations Plan and forecast annual IT budget needs, including lifecycle management, application licensing, maintenance, recurring, and capital expenditures providing input to the Annual Programme Review
  • Ensure compliance with Service Management and IT security policies and standards, technical architecture, and service level agreements reporting non-compliance as appropriate
  • Assist and advise offices in the recruiting and providing training to ICT staff and End Users.

Description of task

  • Provide support in developing criteria for loan guarantee schemes
  • Provide support in developing knowledge products based on the Socio-economic Impact Assessment and the two COVID-19 impact surveys that were conducted – household survey and SME survey.

Description of task

The UN volunteers will be based in the Project Management Office, located in the Beijing Volunteer Service Federation office. Under the primary supervision of the National Programme Manager ( NPM ) and secondary supervision of the Country Coordinator of UNV in China, working closely with UNV China and the PMO staff, the UN Volunteers will undertake the following tasks:

Assisting NPM with results oriented project management and implementation.

Facilitating Monitoring and communication among key partners and participating volunteering involving organizations.

Description of task

The Regional Family Liaison Officer will have a dual reporting line: administratively, RBFLO reports to Regional Staff Counsellor; and technically, RBFLO reports to Global Family Liaison Officer. The position will be based in Nairobi and have a regional remit. Travel is required to remote and difficult locations.

The RFLO will drive various programmes and interventions. These would expand in scope in line with the findings of surveys and focus groups. They would include but not be limited to:

  • Identifying needs, advocating and implementing creative solutions to support families to fulfil the WFP goals of inclusivity and to ensure dependants and families feel supported wherever they are located.
  • Facilitating social support through local WFP FLOCK groups to help alleviate the acute stress and isolation common during relocation or when families have to live at distance from the WFP staff member.
