Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Procurement and Logistic Officer, and the general supervision of the Resource Management Officer the UN Volunteer will be in charge of the following functions:

  1. Maintain a permanent and updated record in the inventory control systems.
  2. Prepare monthly reports or at the request of the direct manager, for the monitoring and control of the assets in the fixed assets module.
  3. Support the Organization in the implementation of the established control processes, allowing the proper process of creation, transfer, monitoring and retirement of assets.
  4. Ensure the correct administration of the physical resources assigned to the Mission.
  5. Guarantee the adequate insurance of the goods for risk of loss, theft, damage, or others; maintaining the timely report against the claims that occurred for the assets and carrying out the respective follow-up until the end of each process.
  6. Address the requests for donation of assets processed by the Programs and others, guaranteeing the respective control and the proper authorization procedure by donors and headquarters, as well as the respective updating in the fixed assets module.
  7. Maintain adequate marking of the assets acquired by placing barcode labels for each item, in coordination with the Procurement & Logistics and Program Units.
  8. Carry out annual physical inventories in the Mission offices and prepare a report with the novelties found pertinent recommendations and the respective solution to these.
  9. Maintain adequate control and monitoring of the rental contracts required for the normal development of the Organization's activities, guaranteeing the timely payment of the rental fees.
  10. Ensure adequate control over the cell lines acquired by the Organization.
  11. Management and control of the loan center.
  12. Strictly comply with IOM procedures, regulations, and standards of conduct.
  13. Provide support to the Purchasing & Logistics Unit in times of high demand in activities that require additional attention.
  14. All other functions assigned to her/him by the Procurement & Logistics Officer, Head of RM, and IOM Chief of Mission, due to the conditions inherent to his position and its conditions.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of SPPS Project Manager the NUNV will work to support the SPPS project on key coordination, logistical, and deliverable objectives being carried out by various members of the SPPS team. The deliverables by the consultant are time-bound and related to specific tasks that need to be completed in support of priority objectives under which the project is working toward. The consultant will work closely with the other members of the technical team including Livelihood Specialist, Training Specialist, M&E Specialist and MIS Associate, and ensure programmatic supports as per requirements. He will have to support and participate in conducting in-depth research and analysis of primary and secondary data (either collect data/information through web search and/or visits key focal points of social protection programmes implementing ministries) and assist in preparing policy presentation and briefs. In collaboration with colleagues, the consultant will support critical research and policy development objectives under the policy exploration phase of developing a national social insurance scheme, researching the viability through piloting on universal old age and persons with disability allowance, and support critical economic and coronavirus social protection research. The consultant will be assigned for working with SPPS project of UNDP within the scope of Cabinet Division and GED.

Specific duties to include:

Working closely with the government counterpart in Cabinet Division and other social protection implementing ministries/divisions, provide data collection, research, and documentation support in the ongoing formulation process of NSSS Action Plan (Phase 2) and subsequent progress tracking of the implementation of the Action Plan:

  1. Support formulation of NSSS Action Plan and monitor its implementation progress
  • Assist in preparing a database of NSSS Action Plan items of each ministry/division
  • By coordinating with the implementing ministries/divisions, update the database with progress tracking information
  • Provide support in documentation of the NSSS Action Plan related information and data received from the line ministries
  1. Provide administrative and logistics support to the Cabinet Division’s Social Protection branch
  • Assist the social protection branch of Cabinet Division in organizing consultation meetings, and workshops on social security.
  • Assist in preparation of meetings/workshops’ notices, minutes, and other documents
  • Maintain and regularly update a database of social security focal points of implementing ministries/division
  • Assist in any other related matters as deemed required.
  1. Provide technical support in the development process of Cabinet Division’s digitized dashboard on social security:
  • Support the dashboard development process through coordination, data collection, data entry and other relevant tasks

Description of task

The Government of Bangladesh has formulated the National Social Security Strategy (NSSS) with the objective of tackling poverty and vulnerability by contributing to human resource development which will have particular focus on child social protection. Therefore, the NSSS adopts the social protection programmes for families with children as the primary challenge. The SPPS Programme supports the government in implementation of the NSSS which recommends child social protection as the most important agenda of social protection reforms. Thus, the development of child social protection and nutritional upliftment has come to be most prominent engagement of SPPS Programme.

In view of the above, the SPPS Programme is looking for a young professional (with Bangla and English language proficiency) capable of working collaboratively, having research aptitude on social issues, and with technical expertise of child social protection and nutrition for a certain period to work directly in the SPPS Programme which operates in different ministries and offices.

As an effort to increase its internal capacity, SPPS Programme prefers a qualified young professional with the interest on social development policy, child social protection and nutrition (with Bachelor’s degree preferably with major in nutrition or child development) who will support Cabinet Division and GED in implementation of NSSS. Some of the salient expected deliverables are:

Specific duties to include:

  • Support the SPPS team in analysis of the government policy on child social protection in NSSS, Five Year Plans, SDGs and to point out prioritized policy areas for supports.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Programme Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Ensuring that UNHCR Field operations are supported in carrying out shelter needs assessments taking into account the current situation, projected population planning figures and the expected scale of returns;
  • Developing country level shelter strategies which are framed by UNHCR’s Global Strategy for Settlement and Shelter and take into consideration the local context, age and gender, culture, climate, environmental protection and the availability of local resources, including materials, capacities and existing infrastructure;
  • Providing clear guidance on standards for shelter and settlement, including minimum emergency standards to meet basic and essential needs;
  • Together with UNHCR's implementing partners, compiling, analysing and mapping available information on shelter options in country taking into account relevant policies adopted by the Government. When planning shelter works, ensuring that the technical component reflects UNHCR minimum standards for the provision of emergency and other types of shelter assistance and is within the budgetary requirements. Due consideration should be given to standards in other relevant sectors such as water and sanitation;
  • Ensuring the shelter strategy is periodically reviewed to reflect the evolving situation in country and progressively transitioning to more sustainable shelter solutions. This process should be done in close collaboration with the beneficiaries and the host Government while bearing in mind the shelter needs of people upon their eventual return to their country of origin;
  • Ensuring that specifications, bills of quantities and drawings are produced in a technically sound and standardised manner and establish monitoring and evaluation tools to ensure that works are implemented according to plans and completed within the designated timeframe;
  • Promoting the sustainability of technical interventions through local capacity building and self-help in collaboration with local partners in the field. Ensure that local communities have been consulted on all activities so as not to create unnecessary tension between the displaced and host populations;
  • In consultation with UNHCR’s implementing partner and local communities themselves, identifying the need for community based Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) that can benefit the local and displaced communities;
  • The position requires regular contact with programme, protection and field staff in country in order to ensure technical support related to shelter and construction activities;
  • Close and regular contact with technical and non-technical staff of UN Agencies, Implementing Partners, National and International NGOs and Government Authorities, is essential to discuss matters relating to shelter and infrastructure coordination and provision;
  • Maintaining regular contact with the Shelter and Settlement Section in Geneva regarding all technical matters.

Description of task

Description of task

5. Aplicar medidas apropiadas para salvaguardar los productos alimenticios y no alimentarios, con el fin de garantizar el control de calidad utilizando medidas preventivas estándar de conformidad con los procedimientos del PMA establecidos y la autorización recibida del supervisor.

6. Vigilar el estado del almacén y de los productos y tomar medidas adecuadas para sostener una planificación eficiente del espacio y un almacenamiento bien organizado, aplicando las normas del PMA en la materia.

Description of task

● Preparación, convocatoria, registro y minuta de reuniones mensuales con los miembros del AdR VBG.
● Apoyar la promoción de la acción conjunta, conocer e interactuar con los puntos focales socios del AdR VBG y otros sectores, grupos relevantes para la mitigación del riesgo de VBG y la remisión de sobrevivientes
● Apoyar el desarrollo, la implementación y el monitoreo de los Procedimientos Operativos Estándar (SOP) y la ruta de remisión para todos los actores involucrados en la respuesta de VG miembros del CCT.
● Facilitar capacitaciones de contenidos de violencia de género en emergencia inclu-yendo la integración de VBG en las acciones de prevención, mitigación y respuesta de otros clústeres, instituciones y comunidades.
● Apoyar las gestiones de los grupos de trabajo coordinados por el AdR VBG a nivel nacional y local.
● Apoyar el monitoreo de la implementación de las acciones de los socios del AdR VBG alineados con los objetivos de la respuesta humanitaria de VBG, incluyendo la calidad de la provisión de servicios de VBG.
● Proporcionar experiencia técnica y orientación a los socios del AdR VBG sobre planes, programas y proyectos propuestos para ser parte del Plan de Respuesta Humanitaria (HRP) velando por la incorporación las directrices internacionales en materia de VBG en emergencia adaptándolas al contexto local.
● Contribuir con la incorporación de la VBG en las evaluaciones y análisis situacionales, multisectoriales, interinstitucionales.
● Mapear actores que pueden apoyar intervenciones relacionadas con VBG e identificar brechas en los estados que componen el CCT.
● Promover un enfoque estandarizado para la recopilación de datos, con énfasis en garantizar prácticas seguras y éticas promovidas por el Sistema de gestión de la información sobre la VG (GBVIMS), los Principios rectores para trabajar con sobrevivientes de VG y las Recomendaciones éticas y de seguridad de la OMS para Investigar, documentar y monitorear las violencias sexuales en emergencias.
● Preparar insumos mensuales en las herramientas disponibles para el seguimiento de la respuesta en VBG, como por ejemplo reportes de progreso del AdR VBG, Clúster de Protección, OCHA SitReps, boletines humanitarios, informes de protección, actualizaciones semanales globales de VBG, reuniones internas y externas de la sede del UNFPA, incidencia, etc.
● Apoyar la coordinación del AdR VBG del CCT correspondiente y Nacional en las acciones de abogacía sobre necesidades y brechas identificadas y compartir la información sobre las necesidades identificadas y las recomendaciones del AdR VBG con socios, instituciones, agencias del SNU, otros líderes del sector, donantes y otros, según corresponda.
● Aplicar los principios humanitarios y principios rectores para el abordaje de la VBG en situaciones de emergencia, estos son: seguridad, confidencialidad, respeto y no discriminación.
● Elaborar un repositorio de información de los socios del AdR VBG según los criterios de sensibilidad compartidos por OCHA para apoyar la recolección de insumos para contribuir a la incorporación de las brechas y necesidades de VBG en la actualización del Panorama de Necesidades (HNO).

● Obligación de respetar los códigos de conductas para prevenir el Abuso y la Explotación Sexual (PSEA)
