Description of task

Bajo la supervisión del responsable de la sección de Educación, el ONU Voluntario desempeñará las siguientes tareas:

  • Apoyar la planificación, implementación y gestión de la educación en los programas de emergencia trabajando con el gobierno, las agencias de la ONU y otros socios de desarrollo / humanitarios y contrapartes de ONG en las áreas de Educación Infantil, Calidad y Equidad en la educación, incluso a través del desarrollo de capacidades y el fortalecimiento de vínculos intersectoriales
  • Mejorar la eficiencia y la eficacia del proyecto mediante la implementación y las actividades de seguimiento con varios asociados en la ejecución, incluido el seguimiento de las aportaciones de UNICEF, las condiciones y los recursos locales, el flujo de asistencia de suministro y no suministro y el estado del proyecto de educación.
  • Contribuir a la producción, uso y difusión de información en el programa educativo, a través de la participación en la redacción de notas temáticas, análisis analíticos de situación, SITREPs, informes a donantes de emergencia.

En esta área trabaja muy de cerca con el área de seguimiento y planificación.
  • Brindar asesoría y asistencia técnica a funcionarios gubernamentales y otros socios en la planificación, implementación, monitoreo y evaluación del programa.
  • Apoyo en la elaboración de propuestas humanitarias a donantes
    Realizar visitas sobre el terreno para supervisar los programas, así como realizar revisiones periódicas del programa con contrapartes gubernamentales y de ONG y otros socios.
  • Cualquier otra tarea relacionada que pueda ser requerida o asignada por el supervisor.
  • Participa en los diferentes foros de coordinación humanitaria (clúster de educación, cualquier otro clúster / sub clúster de interés, foros de coordinación gubernamental si los hubiera)
  • Coordina con colegas de otras áreas de UNICEF para garantizar la intersectorialidad de la programación humanitaria.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Regional Advisor Evaluation (RA-Ev) or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Evaluation Officer will carry out the following duties:

  1. Support the RA-Ev (and / or MCES) on major evaluations and related evaluative work
  • Gather key background documents for use in the scoping and execution of evaluations
  • Support the process for the development of evaluation terms of reference, which includes managing and/or guide consultants in delineating the scope of the evaluation and engaging in consultations with evaluation stakeholders

  • Knowledge management (KM): help develop the electronic repository of evaluation-related publications (UNICEF uses SharePoint for its KM), reports and data sets for use in the evaluation and maintain until project finalization
  • Provide quality professional support to ongoing EAPRO Evaluation section activities, including background research and scoping for upcoming evaluations.

  1. Provide support in the management of ad-hoc evaluative work as stipulated in the Regional work plan:
  • To provide quality support to drafting concept notes, dissemination of reports, including contributing to scanning of recent articles and publications to keep abreast of new approaches in evaluation and partnership for evaluation
  • Gathering research evidence, and other inputs to support evaluations, including design and support to colleagues in online polling, surveying, and rapid data collection
  • Support methodology related work in the evaluation section of EAPRO
  • Promote the evaluation function in the region
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

  1. Provide support to systems development and maintenance of performance data and reporting for the evaluation function:

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Human Resources Specialist, the UNV Human Resources Officer will perform the following tasks:

1. Business Partnering

  • Through research of policies and analysis of data, provide support to the HR Business Partners in advising their clients on HR-related needs and developing subsequent plans of action.

Description of task

  1. Support the Emergency Management and Coordination with specific focus on the humanitarian situation, Emergency preparedness and response

Description of task

Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Gender Programme Specialist, UNICEF Mozambique country Office, the UN Volunteer supporting the implementation of the Spotlight Initiative in Mozambique. The UNV contributes to the effective management and monitoring of the Spotlight Initiative in Mozambique by providing substantive inputs to programme monitoring, implementation, and evaluation. Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Communication for Development (C4D) Specialist or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Communication for Development Officer will:

Support the strategy design and development of C4D activities

  • Conduct research, and/or participate in conducting comprehensive C4D situation analysis of social, communication, cultural, economic and political issues in the country. Collect and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information and data to support the establishment of comprehensive and evidence-based information for developing and planning the C4D component of the Country Program of Cooperation;

  • Collect, synthesize, draft and/or organize materials and related documentations for evidence-based C4D strategies and plans to ensure optimum impact, scale and sustainability of achievements/results.   • Support to the implementation of C4D activities

  • Collaborate and/or consult with internal and external partners to provide operational and technical support to research, develop, and produce evidence-based strategies and test, produce and use quality C4D materials and/or organize events and activities to ensure community engagement and participation, and maximum outreach and impact on behavioral and social change;

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Child Protection Specialist (CPiE), the International UN Volunteer will deal with all matters related to mine risk education in Myanmar. The International UNV will undertake the following tasks:

1. Participate in relevant coordination and inter-agency Mine Risk Working Group meetings at both national and sub-national levels, contributing to the agenda, minutes, documents, and support follow up to action points through timely and quality communications;

2. Ensure timely and quality contributions on issues related to Mine Action to the national PWG, CPWG and CTFMR;

3. Monitor trends and provide inputs to the explosive ordinance risk education (EORE) and awareness-raising programmes and ensure that emergency preparedness planning is conducted and/or updated regularly to anticipate new risks and ensure timely and appropriate child protection response;

4. Support the development, implementation and monitoring and reporting of partnerships with civil society, community-based and child protection mechanisms in the field to ensure their participation in the implementation of EORE programmes;

5. Undertake field visits to provide technical support to field offices and partners through the rolling out of tools and resources, supporting the execution of their action plans, and assisting in programming;

6. Ensure that UNICEF child protection section is kept informed of situations having an impact on child protection, maintain an overview of the situation and identify crucial gaps in service provision that require addressing;

7. Facilitate trainings and capacity building activities for relevant beneficiaries, including NGO partners in collaboration with field offices;

8. Contribute to ensuring dissemination of informative materials in the most affected areas;

9. Ensure regular communications with the global MRE network and support when possible;

10. Draft budgets and project proposals for new projects as required;

11. Draft donor reports, fundraising proposals, ad-hoc reports, briefing papers, presentations and other documents as required;

12. Provide programme information to partner agencies, non-governmental organizations, contractors and UN agencies.
