Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of UNFPA Program Analyst or her designated mandated representative(s), the National UN Volunteer will:

  • Monitor UNFPA’s project and country programme activities on gender mainstreaming by keeping a close record of activities and expenditures, revision of logframes, work plans, calendar of events and result matrix to track the progress towards indicators in close coordination with programme, communications and operations teams .
  • Proactively assist in gathering, structuring and analysis of information regarding legal and socio-economic environment of the country programme gender component, implementing partners, government authorities, local civil society organizations and other counterparts, which may be of use to the programme for informing decisions and communications etc.;
  • Support in project data analysis and visualization, produce data visualization reports;
  • Conduct needs assessment: as appropriate, design of data collection forms, ensuring that the purpose and use of all data collected is clear, questions are simple and user friendly, easily collectable, highlighting where potential problems might arise; organize and manage the data input and initial analysis and presentation of data for the programme;
  • Prepare periodic progress reports and disaggregated data inputs to UN Info/UNDAF/UNGTG and document lessons learnt and challenges ensuring cross-team coordination and data exchange;
  • Assist with knowledge and analytical products development through collection and analysis of raw data for newsletters, web products and infographic materials; manage GE Programme knowledge database;
  • Monitor the assistance provided by UNFPA to implementing partners paying attention to quality of activities and tracking the progress, prioritize the collection of accurate and complete age and sex-disaggregated data in particular to understand how COVID-19 impacts individuals differently, in terms of prevalence, trend; Collect and analyze qualitative feedback from the project target audiences, liase with events participants, manage database of contacts.
  • Contribute to drafting donor and stakeholder reporting, concept notes, memorandums, official requests and recommendations to streamline gender programme activities;
  • Perform field and online visits to monitor implementation of the gender programme activities and ensure the quality and accuracy of the collected or reported data, provide regular feedback and recommendations to programme staff on impact measurement.
  • Contribute to developing of ToRs for research/assessment/evaluation/ gender audit exercises to be conducted within the gender programme framework;
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Country Office, Regional Office and HQ.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Regional Manager for Asia and the Pacific or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Programme Support Associate will:

Support to UN Volunteer mobilization and management

  • Ensure an understanding of UNV’s mandate, key offers and the added value that UN Volunteer assignments by UN Agencies;
  • Support identification of volunteer placement opportunities and present UNV value proposition and volunteer modalities with the objective of maximizing international and national volunteer presence, including collaboration in the preparation of descriptions of assignment, with partner agencies and other partners;
  • Support briefings and debriefings for incoming and outgoing UN Volunteers, including personal support and guidance to UN Volunteers serving in the country;
  • Work closely with the Field Security Officer and provide support to the UN Designated Official to ensure a detailed understanding among UN Volunteers on all security-related issues;
  • Monitor the well-being and performance of serving UN Volunteers;
  • Support the deployment and assignment management of all UN Volunteer modalities;
  • Support the recruitment of national and international UN Volunteers as well as other administrative duties for placement and management of UN Volunteers assigned to the country in line with the conditions of service and in close coordination with the relevant organizational units;
  • Participate in UN thematic forces, conflict and post-conflict needs assessments to identify opportunities for volunteer placement;
  • Support development and implementation of the UNV country programme’s annual work plan, including reporting on UNV support funds and budget;
  • Assist on the logistical and travel arrangements of arriving UN Volunteers and his/her recognized dependents;

Emergency Support

  • Ensure regular monitoring of well-being and duty of care of the UN Volunteers;
  • Analyse the situation in the country and suggest respective actions to the supervisor;
  • Act as an emergency contact point for information updates on the safety and whereabouts of the UN Volunteers under any emergency conditions;
  • In close coordination with relevant organizational units and in contact with the Host Entities, update the lists of emergency entitlements and other allowances for the UN Volunteers;
  • Consolidate and update the lists of the UN Volunteers and their whereabouts in case of emergency;
  • Support evacuation and relocation of UN Volunteers, if applicable;
  • Keep updated on the continuity plans of the Host Entities;
  • Collect and analyze information of re-purposing of the UN Volunteer assignments.

Administrative and logistical support

  • Maintain inventories of all UNV-supplied, non-expendable equipment, and ensure records of all items purchased for UNV-executed projects are submitted to UNV headquarters;

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Head of Office or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Programme Assistant will provide overall support for the coordination, implementation and monitoring of selected projects including projects that are innovative in nature, b) ones implemented on a pilot basis to assess new approaches and c) projects ready to be scaled up based on successful pilot-based interventions all under both the humanitarian and development nexus). The UNV will undertake the following tasks:

Bajo la supervisión de la Coordinadora de Respuesta Humanitaria en SSR, el voluntario ONU realizará las siguientes tareas:

A) Construcción / actualización diagnóstica de situación de insumos, personal,

C) Asistencia técnica, supervisión y monitoreo de los socios implementadores en las actividades desarrolladas.
D) Establecer vínculos con organizaciones comunitarias y líderes comunitarios para reforzar su participación en la planificación, monitoreo y evaluación de las actividades.
E) Seguimiento y Monitoreo del uso de los insumos, población beneficiada, inventario.
F) Monitoreo en conjunto con coordinadora nacional, comunidad organizada, autoridades locales y nacionales de salud, de acciones realizadas y población beneficiada. Description of task

Cette description d'affectation correspond à des tâches génériques associées au poste en question afin d'établir une liste/pool de candidats qualifiés et disponibles pour développer les fonctions requises par les AFP en réponse à la situation humanitaire en Haïti. Description of task

Bajo la directa supervision de la Coordinadora del AdR VBG del CCT correspondiente y el apoyo de la Coordinadora Nacional del AdR VBG, quienes implementarán un mecanismo para el monitoreo y control de progreso sobre las actividades y responsabilidades acordadas de VBG el/la voluntario/a ONU realizarà las siguientes actividades:

● Apoyar a la coordinación en la implementación del plan de trabajo del AdR de VBG del Centro de Coordinación de Terreno (CCT) correspondiente, con actividades e indicadores que contribuyan directamente a la realización de los objetivos estratégi-cos de la estrategia del Clúster de Protección y AdR a Nivel Nacional y al Plan de Respuesta Humanitaria (HRP).

● Preparación, convocatoria, registro y minuta de reuniones mensuales con los miembros del AdR VBG.
● Apoyar la promoción de la acción conjunta, conocer e interactuar con los puntos focales socios del AdR VBG y otros sectores, grupos relevantes para la mitigación del riesgo de VBG y la remisión de sobrevivientes
● Apoyar el desarrollo, la implementación y el monitoreo de los Procedimientos Operativos Estándar (SOP) y la ruta de remisión para todos los actores involucrados en la respuesta de VG miembros del CCT.
● Facilitar capacitaciones de contenidos de violencia de género en emergencia inclu-yendo la integración de VBG en las acciones de prevención, mitigación y respuesta de otros clústeres, instituciones y comunidades.
● Apoyar las gestiones de los grupos de trabajo coordinados por el AdR VBG a nivel nacional y local.
● Apoyar el monitoreo de la implementación de las acciones de los socios del AdR VBG alineados con los objetivos de la respuesta humanitaria de VBG, incluyendo la calidad de la provisión de servicios de VBG.
● Proporcionar experiencia técnica y orientación a los socios del AdR VBG sobre planes, programas y proyectos propuestos para ser parte del Plan de Respuesta Humanitaria (HRP) velando por la incorporación las directrices internacionales en materia de VBG en emergencia adaptándolas al contexto local.
● Contribuir con la incorporación de la VBG en las evaluaciones y análisis situacionales, multisectoriales, interinstitucionales.
● Mapear actores que pueden apoyar intervenciones relacionadas con VBG e identificar brechas en los estados que componen el CCT.
● Promover un enfoque estandarizado para la recopilación de datos, con énfasis en garantizar prácticas seguras y éticas promovidas por el Sistema de gestión de la información sobre la VG (GBVIMS), los Principios rectores para trabajar con sobrevivientes de VG y las Recomendaciones éticas y de seguridad de la OMS para Investigar, documentar y monitorear las violencias sexuales en emergencias.
● Preparar insumos mensuales en las herramientas disponibles para el seguimiento de la respuesta en VBG, como por ejemplo reportes de progreso del AdR VBG, Clúster de Protección, OCHA SitReps, boletines humanitarios, informes de protección, actualizaciones semanales globales de VBG, reuniones internas y externas de la sede del UNFPA, incidencia, etc.
● Apoyar la coordinación del AdR VBG del CCT correspondiente y Nacional en las acciones de abogacía sobre necesidades y brechas identificadas y compartir la información sobre las necesidades identificadas y las recomendaciones del AdR VBG con socios, instituciones, agencias del SNU, otros líderes del sector, donantes y otros, según corresponda.
● Aplicar los principios humanitarios y principios rectores para el abordaje de la VBG en situaciones de emergencia, estos son: seguridad, confidencialidad, respeto y no discriminación.
● Elaborar un repositorio de información de los socios del AdR VBG según los criterios de sensibilidad compartidos por OCHA para apoyar la recolección de insumos para contribuir a la incorporación de las brechas y necesidades de VBG en la actualización del Panorama de Necesidades (HNO).

● Obligación de respetar los códigos de conductas para prevenir el Abuso y la Explotación Sexual (PSEA)
● Desarrollar acciones adicionales relacionadas con su función que sean solicitadas por el UNFPA.

Description of task

Cette description d'affectation correspond à des tâches génériques associées au poste en question afin d'établir une liste/pool de candidats qualifiés et disponibles pour développer les fonctions requises par les AFP (agences, fonds et programmes des Nations Unis) en réponse à la situation humanitaire en Haïti. Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Regional Manager for Europe and CIS and within the coordination of OV Team Coordinator or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:

a. Coordinating the Online Volunteering programme and service in Europe and CIS countries and focusing on:

  • Coordinate the engagement and promotion of online volunteering by contributing to networking efforts and building relationships with relevant organizations, delivering information meetings and workshops for target organizations and providing relevant information and assistance;
  • Assist with planning and organizing series of on-site and online public events on promoting volunteer modalities of UNV among UN Agencies, NGOs, UN Volunteers and other target groups, including in close coordination with ROECIS and UNV global teams;
  • Support ROECIS portfolio team to combine online volunteer services with onsite UN Volunteer services by coordinating the relationships management with UN partners;
  • Develop creative business solutions to extend the operation in the region.

b. Providing support to the users of UNV’s Online Volunteering service focusing on achieving the following results:

  • Respond to general queries including updating of standard messages;
  • Screen organizations’ applications from a given portfolio of countries submitted ensuring required information is complete, assessing compliance with established criteria, e.g. adherence to UN policies, accreditation with ECOSOC, verifying applicant organizations’ goals and activities through Internet research, and getting timely feedback from field teams, other;
  • Assist with organization and volunteer feedback monitoring and take action as and when relevant;
  • Screen online volunteering opportunities by organizations, ensuring clear task descriptions, context and expected development impact;
  • Guide users on other website-related issues and problem solving;
  • Actively participate in developing / reigning business requirement for continuous systems optimization (from the end -user and service administrator perspective).

c. Supporting Knowledge Management:

  • Support regional manager and UNV in delivering webinars, producing visibility tools, drafting knowledge products;
  • Generate and prepare data sheets, presentations on OV together with an analysis and evaluation including sharing information for RBM processes;
  • Regular follow-up the trend and brief regional manager and UNV team by proposing mitigation measures or new business solutions in OV;
  • Close follow-up online volunteering services providing to the partners and support Communication team to collect information, draft stories, articles, social media posts and other relevant materials for website, social media channels etc and knowledge sharing;
  • Edit and translate documents related to user journey guidance and other online volunteering content.

Assignment Remarks:

National UN Volunteer assignments are only open for Turkish citizens who have work permit in Turkey. Other countries’ citizens are not eligible to be shortlisted in NUNV assignments.

The duration of this assignment will be extended upon the successful deliverables of UN Volunteers in line with the expectations and targets of the assignment described in this Call for Application.

The current monthly living allowance of a national UN Volunteer in Turkey is TRY 7133 with a full coverage of private insurance and additional benefits ie access to learning platforms. There is an increase in monthly living allowance in each May. There is no pension and social security payment in UN Volunteer assignments, these costs are belonging to the person. The candidate can find the details of entitlements in the UNV Conditions of Service.
