Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Resource Management Officer and in close collaboration with the
Head of Programmes, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Direct and guide the work of the HR and Admin teams of the office;
- Lead the development and implementation of the HR & Admin short and long-term vision and
contribution of the office in alignment with local, regional and global priorities;
- Analyze progress, identify risks and opportunities, provide corrective actions and contribute to the
synergies;
- Contribute to the UN Business Operations Strategy 2.0 on a local level;
- Support and drumbeat the UN inter-agency coordination activities in Morocco;
- Coordinate meetings and activities, facilitate trainings and ensure that sufficient information is
disseminated to all relevant stakeholders internally and externally;
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Head of Information and Evidence Management Unit or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:
• Undertake in-depth research and analysis of complex political, military, paramilitary, and other related activities in crimes committed by ISIL/Da’esh involving serious breaches of international humanitarian law, such as genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, including sexual and gender-based violence.
• Gather, organize, and analyze evidence material in UNITAD holdings on Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF’s).
• Provide Member States with battlefield evidence in support of national prosecutors, police or law enforcement agencies with investigative and/or prosecutorial activities.
• Assist with classifying, managing and transferring information material by using specialized e-discovery and data management tools, in consultation with UNITAD’s information management and evidence officers.

Liaise closely with investigators, lawyers, information and evidence officers to analyze evidence material and identify further investigative leads.
• Identify gaps and trends, and drafting of analytical reports and assessments to support UNITAD’s structural investigation, investigative interviews and case building activities.
• Maintain an understanding of developments relevant for the implementation of UNITAD's mandate through the monitoring and collection of data and information from multiple sources, including UNITAD components, UN Country Team (UNCT), Iraqi judicial/military/civilian authorities, NGOs, media and other key stakeholders.
• Perform any other related duties as may be required to support the team.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Admin Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Coordinate, manage and support all the fleet management activities in the Office.
  • Implement effective fleet management that regularly monitors the fleet pool, saves cost and safeguards the investment of the organisation.
  • Apply UNHCR's fleet management strategy when preparing plans for purchase of important fleet assets. Conduct spend analyses using historical spend data to identify trends that can be used to plan procurement activities and Frame Agreements.
  • Plan for acquisition, maintenance and replacement of fleet assets. Develop local fleet management replacement strategies taking into account UNHCR short and medium term requirements.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of head of reproductive health unit, reproductive health specialist the national UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

· Closely with the program analysts and specialists ensuring the implementation of the program activities for the assigned projects (FP, HIV/AIDS, MH, MISP, RHCS & STI), through regular follow up with the implementing partners, advocacy efforts, coordination mechanisms and providing technical assistance

· Facilitate the work of consultants, advisors and experts involved in the implementation of the program under her/his responsibility

· Assist the program analysts and specialist in developing a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework for each grant/project,

· Support the program analysts and specialist to analyze and report on implementation of the assigned program activities, measure progress, identify obstacles/challenges in the implementation of projects that needs to be addressed and document the impact and achievements of each project in line with the annual work plans targets, and UNFPA strategic targets,

· Provide on timely basis up to date summary sheet for progress against all relevant indicators at both outputs and process levels including reproductive health commodities, to facilitate the relevant decisions associated with planning, reporting, funding allocation, and prioritization.

· Support the program analysts and specialists in the analysis of processed data and information and perform data quality and consistency control to analyze and report on implementation of the assigned program/project activities, measure progress, identify obstacles/challenges in the implementation of projects that need to be addressed and document the impact and achievement of each project in line with the annual work plans targets, and UNFPA strategic targets,

  • Provide support with quantitative and qualitative macroeconomic data collection (primary and secondary disaggregated data on impact of COVID-19 on the micro, small and medium scale enterprises (MSMEs)
  • Provide support in developing criteria and disbursement model for performance-based grant for MSMEs and civil society organizations
  • Provide support in developing criteria for loan guarantee schemes
  • Provide support in developing knowledge products based on the Socio-economic Impact Assessment and the two COVID-19 impact surveys that were conducted – household survey and SME survey.

Description of task

Sous la supervision des consultants internationaux, le VNU :

  • Aider l'équipe des moyens d'existence et de la résilience des jeunes à planifier et mettre en œuvre les projets d'appui aux moyens
  • d'existence en fournissant à l'équipe un soutien administratif, en rédigeant des rapports, en traduisant et en coordonnant avec les homologues nationaux;
  • Coordonner avec les homologues nationaux, y compris le CPEC, l'ADDS et d'autres acteurs concernés, et le Bureau régional du PNUD à Amman, en Jordanie, pour faire progresser le programme Behavioral Insight for Youth Entrepreneurship (BI4YE) afin de résoudre les problèmes de comportement qui empêchent les entrepreneurs djiboutiens de démarrer et de développer leur entreprise;

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Community Security and Stabilization Programme Manager and Project Coordinator, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Programme Management:

  • Support programme implementation of a wide range of community stabilization programmes
  • Support with drafting and revision of programme related documentation relevant to project implementation
  • Take roles in different operations processes relevant to project implementation
  • Support the conceptualization, drafting and execution of different documents and visibility materials supporting resource mobilization strategies
  • Coordinate efficiently with stakeholders, including support programme management in various coordination and representation forums
  • Identify potential entry points through networking and outreach and work with them to develop proposals/concept notes and activities under the overall strategic guidance of the team leader
  • Identify and conceptualize potential activities that respond appropriately to the current political situation and established program goals and objectives
  • Prepare, present, analyze, and evaluate grant concepts, applications, and grant agreement/award documents to ensure consistency with program priorities, goals, and objectives
  • Develop and finalize multiple grant agreements and other activities on an ongoing basis in a fast-paced and highly changeable environment

Assist in developing technical presentations and other content, rolling assessments, and other planning exercises under the overall guidance of the team leader

  • Assist with responding to internal and external requests for updates on the implementation of the project;
  • Support the commissions and field offices to improve their programming and reporting capacity;
  • Undertake field visits to gather information and results related to the programme;

Communications:

  • Support external communications work of the project by preparing articles, drafting newsletters and other relevant communication materials in coordination with senior management;
  • Advise and support national Communications/PI officer on the communications work (both for internal and external stakeholders);
  • Assist in drafting and preparing official communications of the project (i.e. to government counterparts, external partners and donors).
  • Any other tasks relevant to reporting and communications work.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:

  • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
  • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
  • Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
  • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Head of UN-Habitat Iraq or his/her designated mandated representative(s), and reporting the UN-Habitat LSA Log/Admin in Basra, the UNV Driver – Log/Amin will:

Driving and Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Provide reliable, safe and secure driving services to the authorized personnel inside and outside the Green Zone within the southern governorates; Trips to/from Baghdad might be required;
  • Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle; keeps track of insurance and other tax formalities.
  • Ensure proper storage and provision of PPEs (Personal Protection Equipment) and have them available for Red Zone missions.
  • Responsible for first aid kit preparation and maintenance;
  • Ensure proper use of official vehicles through the accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs.
  • Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s) by checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires etc.; Perform minor repairs and arrange for changes of vehicle fluids and parts as needed;
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance plans/reports and ensure the periodic servicing of the vehicle in accordance with its scheduled time or mileage limit performing minor repairs and arranging for major repairs as needed and keep records of major repairs.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean, inside and out;
  • Ensure that immediate steps as required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident and report any accident or hazardous activity to the UN-Habitat LSA.
  • Expected to use discretion, initiative and sound judgment in planning and scheduling routes and follows the advice of the senior staff in the vehicle.
  • Keep high security awareness and report the suspicious activity and actions of individuals both entering the Basra Green Zone as well as those waiting for the escort
  • Train and advise UN-Habitat team on the use of vehicle radio and first aid kit as required;
  • When travelling on missions, responsible for radio communication in reporting to base stations upon departing and arriving at all designated security points.
  • Support the LSA – Log/Admin with submission of paperwork, follow up, liaison, and other as necessary and relevant to the post.

Logistics and Administration:

  • Prepare, process and follow-up on administrative arrangements and forms related to the official travel of staff; draft routine correspondence;
  • Maintain files of rules and regulations, logistics and administrative instructions and other related documentation; maintain up-to-date work unit files (both paper and electronic);
  • Organize and coordinate administrative arrangements for meetings, seminars, conferences, training, etc. and support translation as needed;
  • Facilitate basic logistics and administrative processes, including the request of quotations and analysis of pro-forma invoices, as well as related miscellaneous clerical duties;
  • Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other items.
