Description of task

 

 

Under the supervision of Lead Innovation Researcher of the UNDP SDGs Innovation Pilot Project (UNDP SPARK Innovation Lab in Chengdu), the National UNV will undertake the following tasks to support project implementation and management:

 

• Assist the Lead Innovation Researcher in the implementation of UNDP SDGs Innovation Pilot Project. His/her role includes but not limited to the development as well as management of quarterly and annual work plans; maintain daily communication between UNDP, PMO, CICETE, CDHT and key stakeholders;

• Assist in the preparation and coordination of project activities and events including but not limited to online and offline conferences, study tours, trainings, seminars, workshops, summits, etc.;

• Assist in procurement processes and financial management of the project;

• Draft bilingual communications materials in relation to the project, including but not limited to project related social media posting, press releases, interview outlines and media briefings, etc.;

• Prepare recurring financial reports as scheduled and special reports as required for budget preparation, audits and other reasons;

• Assist in annual work plan and budget revisions as requested;

• Other ad hoc tasks assigned by UNDP in coordination with CICETE.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of an international Political Affairs Officer in each region, Peace & Reconciliation Office the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

  • Collect, selecting and analyse information from diverse sources, including publications and the media, with special attention to the representation of all segments of society including vulnerable categories like minorities and women;
  • Support the monitoring of national, provincial and district level political developments and keep abreast of latest trends and developments in the area of assignment in accordance with the priorities established by the mission;
  • Coordinate to maintain up to date knowledge of events relating to political issues in general, and in particular areas of responsibility as well as thematic mandates;
  • Support in the development and maintaining of profiles/maps database for the political section, including: provincial and district profiles, tribal profiles, background of important personalities, and other directories, profiles, maps as requested;
  • Facilitate in maintaining contacts with regional/local civil and government officials/structures; community leaders; political parties and civil society representatives in areas of responsibility; Assisting in preparing summaries of articles from a wide variety of sources and provide inputs to reports;

Description of task

  • Support UNCDF Asia Inclusive Digital Economies (IDE) Learning, Knowledge Management and Communications:

Description of task

Development of the learning management platform and deployment of a learning management system:

  • Collaborate with the LMS Administrator and MESC curriculum division in populating the LMS system for Samoa using e.g. Moodle with content
  • Undertake a need assessment inquiry to support development of content and training that are demand responsive.
  • Identify knowledge gaps of staff in the effective implementation of the learning management system and support capacity development through appropriate training programmess.
  • Provide technical support in maintaining content within the learning management system by creating and uploading modules and courses, granting access and role-based user permissions, updating course content, and running reports.
  • Develop and publish course templates for reuse by educators in designing courses for online and blended learning delivery.
  • Support subject matter experts in the design and creating of learning materials and maintenance processes.
  • Periodically Monitor the quality of courses hosted on the learning management system with time-bound reviews/audit of course status, and coordination to eliminate duplication, conflicting or redundant content.
  • Create and Manage community/discussion forum/ social media feed system within the learning management system including functionality, appearance, tabs, and settings.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process and quality improvements, provide feedback on usage, defects, and suggest enhancements.
  • Seek and promote collaborative partnerships to meet training needs and opportunities for the professional development of teachers and in MESC and education sector.

  • Together with the LMS Administrator, support training of 100 teachers from 20 schools to use assistive technologies for ensuring inclusion of the students with disabilities.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of EVAW Regional Programme Manager or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Ending Violence against Women Research and Programme Development Officer will:

The purpose of this assignment is to support the Ending Violence against Women unit in the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and Pacific through research; drafting proposals, concept notes for activities, briefs and presentations; monitoring and reporting on progress; as well as support the implementation of the EVAW programming and technical support to country offices in the region.

Research, Knowledge Management and Documentation:

    • Assist in preparation of knowledge resources, communications and background material for internal and external use, including concept notes and fact sheets on thematic issues;
    • Support planning, coordination and monitoring of research and training materials such as the costs to business studies, training materials for prosecutors and the adaptation of prevention and monitoring guidance (coordination, planning and technical inputs and review) (implemented by specialists on contract);
    • Support, review, contribute to, and edit research and knowledge products such as narrative reports, research reports, evaluation reports etc. for projects on Ending Violence against Women supported by the ROAP EVAW team;
    • Collate and organize knowledge resources, including for purposes of project filing and record keeping, and facilitate dissemination of knowledge resources (for instance through the organisation of webinars);
    • Provide support to resource mobilization efforts with the drafting of concept notes, briefings notes, talking points and other documents as needed;

  • Project planning, implementation and monitoring:
  • Support prevention efforts in the region, sharing resources and guidance, coordination, planning and support to countries, with regular coordination with HQ;
  • Support the implementation of the Stepping Up project and other EVAW programming, including organisation of meetings and events, support to country offices and coordination with UN Women partners such as ASEAN (emails, calls, concept notes, terms of reference, PowerPoints, talking points and briefing notes, technical review, coordination, planning, organisation of meetings and events);
  • Draft presentations, meeting minutes, and briefs for and from workshops, meetings and consultations with stakeholders;
  • Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation of the Stepping Up and other EVAW programming (regional component, and in Viet Nam);
  • Support coordination among countries in the region on EVAW work- including Spotlight countries- and organize dialogues based on country interest.
