Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Specialist or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the
UN Volunteer will provide assistance to the Health and Nutrition (H&N) section to:

  1. Support the preparation of necessary technical specifications and tenders during the implementation of the projects, in coordination with different partners
  2. Support the Health and Nutrition program in the bidding process as required by the H&N and Supply section
  3. Monitor running project works with different partners and ensure that they are done as per technical specifications and engineering drawings

  1. Review the contractor’s and partners work schedules and updates, and report any issue to the H&N Specialist
  2. Closely monitor the work progress to ensure compliance with the project duration and cost
  3. Measure, record, and review payment requests for the executed works submitted by the contractors
  4. Prepare weekly briefings and reports to UNICEF H&N Specialist and the Section Chief
  5. Ensure detailed records are kept for all construction activities, enabling real-time tracking of construction progress
  6. Conduct field assessments and monitoring visits to assure the standard quality of materials to be provided and/or provided (specifications and installation), in West Bank
  7. Draft monthly reports on the progress of the work and submit to the UNICEF H&N Specialist in Jerusalem.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of International Administration Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer National Administration Officer will:

  • Key responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
  • 1. Responsible and Support management of WFP resources in the area of responsibility (WFP Asset Management, Facilities Management, Light Vehicle Fleet, Travel etc.), monitor requirements and contribute to the estimation of new requirements to facilitate efficiency and cost-effectiveness of operations and services.
  • 2. Description of task

Description of task

1. Description of task

Within delegated authority, the UNV Nurse will be responsible for the following duties:

Attend the day-to-day activities at the clinic on a full-time basis and go on-call 24/7 when required. Respond to emergency calls and assist the Medical Officers in providing medical care. Perform ECG, and other medical exams such as blood tests, glucose, cholesterol, and urine exams, as required. Maintain and organize the medical clinic for any emergency, identifies and plans for clinics’ required consumables/ supplies and equipment requirements, and raise lists accordingly. Assess the needs of clients visiting the clinic ensuring good bedside manners, provide care/advice accordingly, and facilitate referral to the UN Medical Officer/ identified level 2 hospital. Assist in providing health education and participate in addressing work environment, occupational health, and other specific health issues. Maintains medical inventory and supplies and distributes medical supplies to outstations. Assist in the pharmacy, arrangement of the drugs, and medical supplies. Assist/escort in medevac procedures, arrange and prepare the body of the deceased before repatriation of the dead body. Performs other duties as and when required.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Admin Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Coordinate, manage and support all the fleet management activities in the Office.
  • Implement effective fleet management that regularly monitors the fleet pool, saves cost and safeguards the investment of the organisation.
  • Apply UNHCR's fleet management strategy when preparing plans for purchase of important fleet assets. Conduct spend analyses using historical spend data to identify trends that can be used to plan procurement activities and Frame Agreements.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Head of UN-Habitat Iraq or his/her designated mandated representative(s), and reporting the UN-Habitat LSA Log/Admin in Basra, the UNV Driver – Log/Amin will:

Driving and Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Provide reliable, safe and secure driving services to the authorized personnel inside and outside the Green Zone within the southern governorates; Trips to/from Baghdad might be required;
  • Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle; keeps track of insurance and other tax formalities.
  • Ensure proper storage and provision of PPEs (Personal Protection Equipment) and have them available for Red Zone missions.
  • Responsible for first aid kit preparation and maintenance;
  • Ensure proper use of official vehicles through the accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs.
  • Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s) by checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires etc.; Perform minor repairs and arrange for changes of vehicle fluids and parts as needed;
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance plans/reports and ensure the periodic servicing of the vehicle in accordance with its scheduled time or mileage limit performing minor repairs and arranging for major repairs as needed and keep records of major repairs.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean, inside and out;
  • Ensure that immediate steps as required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident and report any accident or hazardous activity to the UN-Habitat LSA.

Description of task

1. Provide administrative and logistical support to the formulation and management of programmes

• Provide administrative support in the preparation of programme work plans, budgets, and proposals on programme implementation arrangements;
