Description of task

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of HR Associate, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

  1. Support to business partnering

  • Support the business partners in developing initiatives to encourage employee well-being and employee recognition schemes
  • Support the management of change processes by advising clientele on changes to HR processes under the guidance of HR Business Partner

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Chief of WASH or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer WASH Monitoring and Reporting Officer will:

  • Work closely with the programme associate to ensure grants are used as per donor conditions including locations, amounts and expended within reasonable time.
  • Work with zonal office heads of sections in the preparation of monthly situation Reports (SitReps) to be shared with PME and emergency Section.
  • Establish and maintain WASH activity database and update the database regularly by collect data from field offices, implementing partners and government counterparts.
  • Design specific Monitoring frameworks for each WASH project funded by different donors and follow up on data collection and updating of the project indicators.
  • Preparation and timely submission of donor reports including regular monitoring reports, Midyear and Annual reports.
  • Monitoring of sectoral indicators to ensure progress is achieved and identify bottlenecks
  • Ensure indicator monitoring is in line with key CO strategic guidance documents including CPD, RAM, IMEP.
  • Provide regular updates when required by the Chief of Section and other key sections including external communication and PME.
  • Knowledge and Data management, including working with PME in major surveys, data collection, evidence generation and case studies.
  • Support the WASH zonal offices in the development of the 2021 Annual Review and prepare annual reports

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Child Protection Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  1. Knowledge management and capacity building

  • Research and document best and promising practices to prevent violence against children in homes, schools and communities.

  • Contribute to identifying, capturing, synthesizing and sharing lessons learnt from interventions to prevent violence against children for knowledge development and capacity building.

  • Share information in a youth-friendly way to schools to promote understanding and engage students in actively participating in school-based interventions to prevent violence against children.

  1. Program management, monitoring and delivery of results

  • Participate in regular field monitoring visits to assess and document child protection interventions to prevent violence against children in homes, schools and communities. Report on critical issues, bottlenecks, and problems in the implementation of the interventions.

  • Work closely with the child protection and innovations teams at UNICEF to support innovative interventions to raise awareness on violence against children and encourage reporting of violence among young people.

  1. Networking, partnership building and advocacy

  • Build and sustain effective working partnerships with community actors, teachers, young people and students to strengthen violence against children interventions in homes, schools and communities.

  • Work closely with the child protection communication for development specialist to draft human interest stories, photo essays and other communication materials for program advocacy to promote awareness of progress made to prevent violence against children.

  1. Additional tasks

  • Participate in the planning, coordination and development of child protection interventions to prevent violence against children, as required and directed by the supervisor.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Senior Programme Manager or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Specialist in Development Economics will undertake the following:

a). Management of Specific Components of the Yoma ecosystem

While the annual priorities will be elaborated jointly in the team, it is anticipated that the UNV will focus on all economic aspects of the yoma and its operational research component. Priority issues include: the youth token and its token economics, entrepreneurial pathways for youth, developmental evaluation and operational research. Monitor work progress and ensure results are achieved according to schedule and performance standards.

b). Programme management, planning and monitoring

Support the Yoma team in on the conceptualization, drafting and finalization of programme and project proposals. Elaborate monitoring systems and draft progress and end project reports. Stay engaged in the latest research outcomes relevant to Yoma. Maintain an evidence base to guide the learning and iterating of the Yoma journey. Participate in strategic programme discussion across various areas to ensure the continued relevance of programme interventions. on the planning of education programmes. Establish specific goals, objectives, strategies and implementation plans for the sector using results-based planning terminology and methodology (RBM).

c) . Advisory services and technical support

Provide technical advice to the Yoma team and key counterparts on issues related to development economics, youth employability and evaluation/research/data. Operate data analysis where required. Participate in strategic discussions to influence policy and agenda setting for enhancing youth empowerment, participation, relational wellbeing and livelihoods.

d). Communication, advocacy, networking and partnership building

Build and strengthen strategic partnerships through networking and advocacy with

local/national governments, UN system agency partners, donors, internationally recognized institutions, NGOs, funding organizations, research institutes and private sector to reinforce cooperation and/or pursue opportunities to support the development of the Yoma ecosystem. Lead on the communication elements in yoma with a particular focus on youth centric and relevant communication.

e). Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor
