Under the direct supervision of UNICEF Kazakhstan Partnerships Specialist, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support Partnerships Specialist in day-to-day coordination of the UNICEF Kazakhstan volunteering programme;
  • Ensuring timely and duly implementation of all activities listed in the Programme document in accordance with the rules and regulations of UNICEF;
  • Coordinate various volunteering programme components, including (1) #PlasticFreeKazakhstan on eco-friendly practices; (2) Be Kind campaign on bullying prevention, (3) disaster risk reduction campaign and (4) online volunteering campaigns on promoting child rights;
  • Ensures coordination with the partner organizations, local authorities and the Ministries to ensure all the necessary supporting documents for project implementation;
  • Ensuring accurate and timely submission of quarterly and annual activity progress - reports, financial reports and FACE forms to UNICEF;
  • Coordinates assessments to evaluate the impact of the volunteering programme;
  • Work on volunteering programme promotion by preparing inputs to press releases, human interest stories and other public information products;
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary to achieve the project objectives according to the request of UNICEF.
Master degree or equivalent

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Regional Director, UNDCO, Istanbul or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Administrative Associate will:

  • Assist in the overall functioning of the UNDCO Regional Desk.
  • Provide substantive and administrative support in managing priorities and work flow of the Regional Director UNDCO; coordinate and monitor multiple and diverse activities to ensure that management directives and decisions are properly carried out and products delivered in a timely manner.
  • Manage financial resources; provide reporting on use of funds, and track progress on workplan.
  • Manage operational support activities (procurement, travel, leave management) for the Regional Desk.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of EVAW Programme Analyst and Head of Sub-Office the UN Volunteer Networking and Partnership Development Officer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Assist in negotiating agreements and setting up implementation mechanisms partners and ensure that agreements are established in conformity with financial rules and the latest instructions.
  • Support the Head of UN Women Sub-Office in review the implementation and performance of project activities, including through appropriate physical monitoring to evaluate the projects by reviewing work plans, progress reports, budget, financial reports and expenditures; undertake field visits as required.
  • Undertake proper collection, monitoring and use of baselines, standards and indicators needed to measure and analyze programme performance, trends and target interventions.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for grassroots’ women on women’s rights and gender equality topics.
  • Use the existing tools to assess the technical soundness of the operation and generate data for evidence-based decisions at the country-level.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance in issuance of audit certificates for Implementing Partners.

  • Support establishment and maintenance of networking and cooperation among civil society organizations (CSOs) and volunteers working on GBV and related issues.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Communications, Communications Specialist in External Relations and Communication at UNV and in close collaboration with the Volunteer Solutions Team, the UN Volunteer Innovations in Communication and Multimedia Specialist will:

  • Support coordination of implementation of the comprehensive review of the Conditions of Service and the Digital Transformation project and overall UNV Communications Plan during a transition/change/launch processes. Strengthen Regional Offices and Field Units transition during implementation of the Conditions of Service, including creation and design of knowledge management products for utilization at the field and regional levels in close collaboration with the Digital Transformation team;
  • Design, develop, and release visual Volunteer Solutions, Conditions of Service and Digital Transformation presentations, reports and monthly bulletins based on aggregate data reports, inputs from the Volunteer Solution Team for dissemination of Conditions of Service, UNV offer, and Digital Transformation changes;
  • Digital design management of Conditions of Service policy and UNV offer packages as multimedia communication materials for internal and external use;
  • Contribute to the development of marketing initiatives and roll-out strategy for dissemination of UNV volunteer solutions and services to the United Nations system;
  • Manage the implementation of the different steps of the agreed/ approved marketing plan on all levels: corporate, regional and field;
  • Create original contents for UNV’s marketing plan and roll-out (documents, PowerPoints, infographics, training tools);
