Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Staff Counselling Unit based in Bamako, the UN Volunteer Staff Counsellor will undertake the following tasks:
Provide counselling services within the designated duty station, as outlined below:
Master degree or equivalent
Type of Degree: Psycho-educational studies, psychology, psychiatry, Clinical Social Work, or other Clinical Mental Health Profession; knowledge of Conflict Resolution, Human Resources, or Administration would be an asset.
Mental health, Social work
The incumbent should be self-confident, compassionate and friendly. He/she should be highly motivated and possess excellent communications skills. He/she must be prepared for stressful situations, including being on-call for critical incidents. The incumbent will provide individual and group sessions and continuing follow-up for patients.
Working computer skills, including full proficiency in various MS Office applications
Fluency in English or French (mandatory) and a working knowledge in the other (optional)
(Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) and other IT applications and office technology equipment
Adaptability and Flexibility, Communication, Ethics and Values, Integrity, Planning and Organizing, Professionalism, Respect for Diversity, Working in Teams
