Description of task Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the RC or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Strategic planner will: Provide UN agencies with high technical support to coordinate the result groups responsible for planification, implementation and monitoring of UNSDCF. Support UN Agencies in planning, designing, monitoring and reporting on regular strategies and programmes. Oversee and conduct quality assurance review and monitoring and reporting on joint UN proposals. Prepare brief policies, reports and follow up on recommendations/decisions made during UNCT meetings and/or with officials. Support RCO to promote synergies between the fields of development and peace according to the needs of the national context. Contribute to successful coordination of stakeholders and networks through support to meetings, events, and communications (managing invitations, preparing agenda points, taking notes and minutes, and following up as needed). Work closely with the team members of the RCO to ensure coordinated support to the RC. Any other task requested by the RC. Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments: An advanced university degree (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent) in management, economics, social sciences, development studies, international relations or any other closely related field; a first-level university degree (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in one of the afore-mentioned academic disciplines in combination with qualifying relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced university degree; Required experience: 180 Months Experience remark: At least 5 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in strategic planning, development policies, program management, crisis management, or other relevant programmes; experience with UN is an asset; Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; Sound security awareness. Description of task Under the direct supervision of UNODC Lebanon Head of Office, and the overall guidance of the Regional Representative at the UNODC Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa (ROMENA), and ROMENA’s Communications and Visibility Officer, the national UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks in order to support the Office in raising the profile of its activities and results in the region: the National UN Youth Volunteer will: Assist with the implementation of communication and visibility strategy. Coordinate internal communications to plan and organize events and international days. Draft webstories, press releases and articles for the quarterly newsletter in Arabic and English, with chances for French, to be published on ROMENA’s website and platforms. Create social media content reflecting the office’s activities to be published through ROMENA’s social media platforms in Arabic and English, with chances for French. Monitor media coverage of Lebanon activities. Develop strategies and activities to raise the profile of Lebanon office and its donors on social media and to tailor its messages to target groups. Ensure donor visibility in all activities and events and assist in developing necessary material to do so. Support the organization of various activities, including fund-raising campaigns, high-level meetings, awareness-raising campaigns on crime prevention and criminal justice in Lebanon; Monitor local press, and research events and publications relevant to UNODC activities in order to draft and circulate news releases and press clippings. Assist in translating and editing documents. Undertake other relevant UNODC communication-related duties, as required.
