Description of task Under the direct supervision of the Chief of communication, advocacy and partnerships, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: Support the conceptualization, planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation of an advocacy and communication strategy to leverage better results and mobilize resources for children: Use a number of digital and social media channels and make recommendations regarding current and future social media platforms and innovation technologies to use in order to increase UNICEF’s outreach in Burundi and abroad; Develop and produce multimedia products and online campaign narratives to advance UNICEF’s mandate and to better profile children's rights, Liaise with donors and National Committees and facilitate field visits and content creation as needed; Support the chief of communication to regularly update media and development partners on progress of UNICEF Country Programme and progress for children and women, as well as UNICEF’s global priorities and campaigns, through the dissemination of reports, surveys, media releases; Maintenance and update of UNICEF Burundi online pages; Update social media platforms; Support the organization of field visits; Contribute to the strategic development of digital initiatives in the country and provide ideas to increase digital engagement, Develop and disseminate social media content for UNICEF’s platforms, including production of digital/online campaigns; Film, edit and work with video files in multiple formats highlighting UNICEF’s work. Candidates must be students of any academic program (BA/BSc, Masters, PhD) and keep this status during the whole period of the volunteer assignment. Description of task Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Communication Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Communication Associate will: Organize UNICEF Mexico´s catalogue of photo and video images to create and archive in an easy to retrieve manner a set of collections for internal and external use in social media, publications, communication and fundraising campaigns. Provide support in digital activities: KPI tracking for digital channels, web content development and community management. Provide support in the production of social media and multimedia products (design, adaptation of content pieces provided by UNICEF headquarters, video/audio products and social media content). Provide support in uploading photos, videos and other multimedia materials to a UNICEF online platform (WeShare) to share content for the entire organization, including National Committees. Provide other support to the Communication team as required. Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments: This is an opportunity for university students. People who are currently enrolled in a university programme (bachelor's or master's degree) in digital communications, multimedia, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, as well as people who have graduated from their bachelor's degree no more than one year ago, are eligible. Age requirements: 18 to 26 years throught the duration of the assignment. Experience in usage of computers, including databases and office software packages Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel. Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required. Good knowledge of English is an advantage. However, the United Nations Volunteers program offers support during your assignment in several ways. The UNV program will cover: The transfer trip to the place of assignment and installation and repatriation allowance (if applicable) will be provided in the event that the work destination is not within a reasonable distance from the volunteer's place of residence. A VLA (Volunteer Living Allowance) grant of MXN 14,758.75 that will be provided on a monthly basis to cover the costs of accommodation, housing and normal living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included, as well as a reinstatement allowance for satisfactory service. The volunteer will be entitled to annual leave and medical leave (if applicable), virtual learning courses and training allowance (reimbursable). Full time availability is required.
