Description of task Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Team Leader and/or Head of the Unit or her/his designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Infrastructure Administrator will act as and perform the following duties and tasks: Administrator – The incumbent is responsible for the continuous operation of the Infrastructure in ICC Data Centers and partners organizations. The incumbent is responsible for managing and maintaining SAN Storage, Backup and Virtualization Infrastructures’ systems, standard configurations, and enhancements. Installation and upgrade as well as assisting with the resolution of incidents and problems, and fulfils users request as a part of ISO 20000 established processes. Deployment Team Member – The incumbent is responsible for final testing and deployment Infrastructure and underlying services, and solutions as well as all related technical documentation. She or he may participate in vulnerability and remediation and technical review related to ICT security initiatives. Operational Support – The incumbent is responsible of providing on-going support at the T2 to ICC Infrastructure environment and related services and will participate in the automation projects and tasks for ICC and Partners. In addition, the incumbent will manage the backup clients, schedules and retentions; monitor and evaluate the performance of virtualization, storage and backup services. Coordinate the replacement of failed Backup, Storage & SAN components, and service restoration. Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Required experience: 60 Months Experience remark: Required Experience: Infrastructure administrator with 5+ years of proved hands-on experience working on market leader solutions on SAN storage (DELL EMC, HPE, Netapp, Cisco, Brocade etc.), Virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V or OVM/KVM) and backup solutions (EMC, Veeam, Veritas, etc.) and good understanding of enterprise networking (Ethernet and TCP/IP) is a plus. Daily activities include monitoring, configuring and troubleshooting. Qualifications, skills, experience: Essential qualifications: Proved experience administering and troubleshooting storage arrays from different vendors (i.e., HPE 3PAR, DELL Compellent and Netapp, etc.) Good understanding and knowledge of storage technologies (Fabric switches, VSANs, WWPNs, NPIV, multi-pathing, Fiber channel, iSCSI, etc.) Sound technical knowledge of storage replication technologies Hands-on experience administering fiber channel fabrics (Cisco MDS and Brocade) Good knowledge of VMware 6.x infrastructure including ESXi, vCenter, and Horizon View Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V and SCVMM is a plus Knowledge of Linux and MS Windows Operating Systems and Windows Clusters administration including multipath implementation and configuration Extensive knowledge in the installation and administration of Enterprise Backup systems (i.e., EMC Avamar, EMC Data Domain and EMC ECS) Knowledge of Automated Tape Libraries and Tape/Disk Backup Management products. Good understanding and knowledge of networking technologies (Ethernet, Routing, ARP, TCP/IP, LACP, etc.) Experience in shell scripting and automation tools (Python, Perl, Bash, Ansible…) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with ability to prepare technical documentation Desirable qualifications: Hyper Converged Infrastructure or Software Defined Storage solutions Knowledge and experience with Oracle VM/KVM Knowledge in the installation and administration of Backup systems like EMC Networker, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam B&R and Spanning for O365 Experience supporting, HPE Blade and Rack systems, HPE OneView. Extensive knowledge of Windows Server patching technologies as well as best practices using WSUS, SCCM and SCOM monitoring Good understanding of Directory Services components, such as Active Directory, GPO, FSMO roles, DNS and DHCP.
