Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Senior Administrative Officer, or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV - Budget and Finance Assistant will undertake the following tasks:

• Assist in the preparation of a results-based budget for the Ozone Secretariat for submission to the Parties to the Montreal Protocol and Vienna Convention
• Verify documents for overall accuracy, consistency and uniformity in presentation and ensure comprehensiveness and compliance, cross-check consistency of figures in tables with the text of the reports and verify references to other reports and documents and ensure that all necessary corrections are incorporated.
• Review budget utilization on a monthly basis and assist with the preparation of the report for management review and on yearly basis for submission to the parties
• Review income and analyse ageing of contributions on a monthly basis and assist with the preparation of the report for management review
• Review financial transactions every month for accuracy and correctness and propose accounting adjustments, if required
• Provide logistics support in the meetings as required

• Provide guidance to Implementing Partners on financial reporting as per the legal agreement and on the templates to be used for meeting the reporting requirements
• Initiate processing of cash advances and expenditure recording and follow up on remittances of funds and liquidation of purchase orders.
• Assist in the follow-up on outstanding financial and technical reports with the executing agencies.
• File and archive documentation in soft and hard copies and keep log of archived files.
• Draft/prepare routine correspondence with respect to enquiries related to relevant financial and budget matters.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Under the direct supervision of the OHCHR Head of Office in Tunis, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

• Research and collect information pertaining to human rights matters from a variety of data sources (e.g. field visits, communications, publications, the press) to keep abreast of issues/events and provide up to date information.

• Draft a variety of reports and correspondence relating to human rights matters.

• Assist in the verification and analysis of information, to include the impact on the country and thematic mandates on the human rights situation in assigned area.

• Support awareness raising on current human rights issues, to include relevant political and legal developments in the country.

• Participate and serve in human rights training programmes for national officials, national human rights institutions and representatives of civil society in order to promote national capacity building.

• Review human rights issues, including gender considerations, and work with relevant partners in the integration of these issues into political, humanitarian and economic efforts and programmes;

• Assist in drafting specific programmes to strengthen capacities for implementing a rights-based approach to development for national, regional and UN partners.

• Assist the Human Rights Officers in guiding government bodies and human rights institutions in domesticating regional and international human rights norms and standards into national legislation.

• Participate with the Human Rights Officers in discussions with relevant authorities and other actors with the aim of stopping or preventing human rights violations or seek other remedial action by the authorities to prevent similar violations occurring in the future.

• Contribute to Office programme development, monitoring and evaluation.

• Perform other related duties as required.
