Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Child Protection Roving Officer at UNICEF or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Child Protection Associate will:

  • Support the quality monitoring of the child protection services implemented by Non-Governmental organizations partners:
  • Work closely and collaboratively with partners to discuss implementation issues, provide solutions, recommendations and/or to alert appropriate officials and stakeholders for higher-level interventions and/or decisions. Keep records of reports and assessments for easy reference and/or to capture and institutionalize lessons learned;
  • Conduct monitoring and field visits to all partners in all field offices;
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, programme reviews and annual sectoral reviews with counterparts to assess programmes/projects, and to report on required action/interventions at the higher level of programme management;
  • Support the third-party monitoring agencies in conducting surveys and analysis of CP programs;
  • Support in the follow up of child protection related support to the field office:
    • Monitoring of implementation of adapted and remote psycho-social support;
    • Implementation of the wellbeing package to enhance the integrated approaches;
    • Support provided to children working and living on the streets;
    • Community engagement and social and behavioural change initiatives;
  • Mainstream guidelines to ensure disabled individuals’ access to child protection and gender-based violence services;
  • Support the role out of the child protection guidelines during COVID 19 produced by the sector and UNICEF at field level;
  • Support in the response to the Beirut Blast by having daily contact with partners, UNICEF field staff and stakeholders;
  • Support in the interagency physical assessment of spaces that could be used as isolation centres along with monitoring the operations inside it with UNICEF partners and field staff;
  • Attend and support as need be the psycho-social support task force;
  • Support the Beirut and Mount Lebanon child protection working group by attending its meetings, supporting in setting the agenda and follow up on action points with the sector lead;
  • Contribute to the implementation of additional tasks undertaken by the section;
Bachelor degree or equivalent

Bachelor’s in social work, psychology, international affairs or any related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in child protection;
  • At least 2 years of experience in program monitoring and evaluation;
  • Ability to communicate and work within a team;
  • Adequate knowledge of the child’s right convention, Law No. 422/2002 (Protection of Juveniles in Conflict with the Law and/or at Risk) and the SOPs in Lebanon;
  • Experience in NGOs’ work;
  • Experience in monitoring child protection psycho-social support programs.

This UNV position will provide to the incumbent opportunity to improve understanding of concrete implementation of education policies and strategies. It will give her/him means to feed her/him academic reflection and such as education information management to finally formulate innovative outputs. Sous la supervision directe du Communication Specialist , le/la Volontaire des Nations Unies effectuera les tâches suivantes:

1. Communication digitale

Assurer une communication digitale agile et adaptée à travers le développement et la mise en œuvre d'interventions spécifiques en appui à la stratégie de communication et de plaidoyer du bureau et des résultats du programme de pays.

Fonctions et tâches

  • Développer et mettre en œuvre en coordination avec l’équipe Communication et plaidoyer et les sections programmes concernées des plans de communication digitale basés sur les comptes des réseaux sociaux de l’UNICEF au Maroc.
  • Identifier, concevoir, développer et produire une gamme variée de contenus, documents et supports digitaux pour illustrer la contribution de l’UNICEF et de ses partenaires à la mise en œuvre du programme de coopération.
  • Générer en arabe et en français du contenu pour le site Web, les médias sociaux et d'autres plateformes dans le but de trouver des moyens innovants en vue d'augmenter le nombre de visiteurs et followers parmi les audiences clés.
  • Assurer le suivi de la production du matériel de communication digitale (Conceptions, vidéos, etc.) et en superviser les aspects qualitatifs (contrôle de la qualité, traductions, révisions de la mise en page et de la conception graphique, etc.) pour répondre aux normes de communication de l’UNICEF.
  • Entreprendre une analyse régulière du travail digital au Maroc pour renforcer son impact et générer plus d'engagement auprès des audiences clés
  • Suivre les développements des réseaux sociaux affectant le travail de l'UNICEF au Maroc et soutenir l'élaboration de réponses appropriées.
  • Assurer la maintenance du site Web (version Arabe et version Française)
  • promouvoir l'engagement des adolescents et jeunes via les plateformes numériques de l'UNICEF au Maroc, y compris la plateforme Voice of Youth de l'UNICEF.

2. Plan de communication et de plaidoyer du bureau

Appuyer la mise en œuvre des plans de communication en s’assurant que la production de produits et matériels de communication est exécutée et suivie en temps opportun pour soutenir la stratégie de communication du pays, les campagnes et priorités régionales et mondiales comme indiqué dans le plan de travail.

Fonctions et tâches

  • Participer à l'élaboration du plan d'action annuel de communication et de plaidoyer
  • Soutenir la production des outils et contenus pour le plaidoyer et la communication (par exemple, images, vidéos, pages Web, etc.)

  • Support evidence-based learning to ensure child-sensitive and gender-sensitive approaches are integrated to develop a risk-informed approach to planning and implementation in social sectors at the local level.
  • Design and conduct case studies to document best practices implemented to enhance the capacity of community actors to provide community-based health interventions, quality nutrition-promotion and counselling services to adolescent girls and women of childbearing age especially those most at risk (both vulnerable and disproportionately exposed to specific shocks and stresses).

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Chief Human Resource or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV - Learning & Development will:

  • Work in close collaboration with the Section Chiefs and the Human Resources Development Committee (HRDC), as well as other relevant stakeholders, prepare learning and development strategies/plans in line with UNICEF India Country Office’s key strategic priorities to meet current and evolving programmatic/operational needs;
  • Build partnerships with academic institutions, UN agencies, external experts, NGOs, CSOs and private sector organizations to design and implement state-of-the-art learning and development programmes, including innovative approaches to learning and development; and share best practices on evolving trends on learning and development;
  • Oversee the timely implementation, monitoring and reporting of global/regional learning/training activities included in ICO’s annual learning plan;
  • Work closely with Section Chiefs, Chiefs of Field Offices and Learning Focal Points to ensure an effective coordination of learning/development investments, thus preventing gaps, overlaps, duplication of efforts, and ensure that expenditures are in line with approved budget;
  • Oversee the evaluation of learning/training programmes to ensure compliance with desired quality standards; that they contribute to meeting desired outcomes, returns on investments, and that lessons learned/best practices are reflected in the development of new strategies and plans. Submit/present periodic learning and development programme reports to the HRDC;
  • Provide expert advice/guidance and support to managers/ supervisors and individual staff members in determining appropriate resources/programmes to fill specific competency/skill gaps. This may include 360-degree assessments, tailored support, coaching support etc. within the limit of available resources/budget;
  • In collaboration with Section Chiefs, and under the guidance of the Chief of HR, develop and implement capacity building initiatives supporting ICO’s internal succession plan. Compile and analyze data on high potential employees in support of ICO succession management plan;
  • Work with the HR team on the selection of external technical resources, including experts (individual and institutional) to design and/or deliver specific learning/training programmes;
  • Contribute to drafting (or draft as needed) internal guidance documents and/or standard operating procedures for the efficient, effective, consistent and fair administration of learning and development activities;
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate the delivery of training/workshops/staff retreats, as appropriate, making the best use of evolving tools and technologies; and train others to deliver training as and when needed;
  • Advise managers and staff members on the effective application of learning policies/guidelines, and the use of various learning pedagogies, methodologies and tools to achieve desired organizational/individual needs;
