ce que des normes de qualité rigoureuses soient maintenues.
7. Étudier et analyser un éventail de questions stratégiques et opérationnelles pour éclairer l’élaboration
de politiques, de programmes et d’activités.
8. Contribuer à la préparation de rapports précis et opportuns sur les programmes et les activités

En plus de ce qui précède, les Volontaires des Nations Unies sont censés :

Renforcer leurs connaissances et compréhension du concept du volontariat en lisant la documentation
mise à disposition par le programme VNU, les publications externes et prendre
activement part aux activités du programme VNU, par exemple s’impliquer dans les activités
commémoratives de la Journée internationale des Volontaires (JIV), le 5 décembre.
- Se familiariser et développer toute forme de volontariat traditionnel et/ou local au niveau du
pays d’accueil.
- Refléter le type et la nature des actions volontaires qu’ils entreprennent, y compris leur participation
dans les réflexions substantielles.
- Contribuer à la rédaction des articles sur les expériences de terrain à soumettre pour la publication
du programme VNU/ site web, bulletin et notes de presse, etc.
- Contribuer au Programme d’accueil des Volontaires des Nations Unies nouvellement arrivés
dans le pays d’affectation ;
- Promouvoir ou conseiller les groupes locaux dans l’utilisation des volontaires en ligne ou

Under the direct supervision of the MED POL Programme Management Officer, the International UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  1. Collect available/existing information on measures/instruments to prevent, control and monitor discharges of marine litter from wastewater treatment plants, aquaculture activities, riverine inputs, and ships, with a particular focus on microplastics, emerging pollutants and packaging waste in the Mediterranean.
  1. Collect available/existing information on sources of plastic pollution and their pathways and propose measures to prevent and reduce generation of plastic waste in the Mediterranean.
  1. Provide technical and administrative support to MED POL activities related to marine litter management, with a focus on:
  1. Marine litter monitoring
  2. Upgrading the Regional Plan for Marine Litter Management in the Mediterranean, and in particular in coordinating the tasks/activities of the Working Group for Marine Litter Management; supporting aspects related to planning, preparations and convening of the “best practices meeting on the implementation of the regional plan on marine litter to prevent/reduce plastic pollution;” and assisting in matters related to marine litter to be addressed in UNEP/MAP’s institutional meetings (MED POL, MAP Focal Points meetings and COP22)
  3. Supporting MEDPOL on aspects related to the Plastic Waste Partnership initiative; Global Partnership for Marine Litter and the Mediterranean Node; Regional Cooperation Platform on Marine Litter Management; Technical Group on Marine Litter (TGML); Marine Litter MED II Project including deliverables of legal instruments to be concluded with the Contracting Parties in the framework of this project

  1. Prepare a final report on tasks completed and summary outputs achieved in the framework of this Terms of Reference (ToR) with regards to technical and administrative tasks.

Under the direct supervision of the Head of VAM/M&E and with the administrative facilitation of the Heads of Field Office, the UNV will be responsible for the following, with a focus on the South West and North West (SW/NW) region:

  • Data collection, management, analysis, visualisation and reporting for monitoring purposes;
  • Coordination and provision of technical support for vulnerability and/or market assessment and mapping;
  • Capacity building and coordination on issues related to monitoring and assessments.

The UNV will perform the following tasks for the Country Office and Field Offices:

Monitoring and Evaluation

  1. Develop and follow up the monitoring and evaluation workplan, coordinate M&E activities, and implement monitoring activities on effectiveness of all food assistance interventions in the SW/NW (e.g. post-distribution monitoring, process monitoring, beneficiary needs and status, food security status, programme modalities, implementation challenges, etc.), ensure the quality of Third-Partner Monitoring.
  2. Ensure the functioning of local committees/helpdesks for the Beneficiary and Complaints Feedback Mechanism (BCFM) in the SW/NW and follow-up on the timely management of hotline complaints.
  3. Contribute to the improvement of WFP’s monitoring and assessments systems and data collection, analysis and reporting as required to support the evaluation of WFP’s impact.
  4. Participate in any targeting related activity, including CP capacity strengthening/ development
  5. Maintain and control data quality in the Country Office Monitoring and Evaluation Tool (COMET).

Vulnability Analysis and Mapping

  1. Coordinate planning and implementation of food and nutrition vulnerability assessments (e.g. EFSA, mVAM and market price monitoring), design and implement quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis activities as needed by the WFP Country Office with contribution of the Field Office and cooperating partner, apply innovative tools and ensure timely results visualization and reporting.
  2. Manage and provide technical inputs for the generation of the VAM evidence base supporting food security and nutrition policies and programmes (e.g. rapid needs assessment, situation analyses, programme design, targeting, cost effectiveness and operational efficiency).
  1. Keep up to date with and report on the latest food security and nutrition developments, and the potential impact upon WFP activities to enable timely and appropriate programme evolution and intervention.

Capacity-Building and Coordination

  1. Participate to and report on relevant coordination forums and clusters, monitoring missions, assessments, working groups and/or other technical meetings in the NW/SW, contribute to technical discussions and ensure regular reporting to the Country Office.
  2. Ensure that the quality of data collection management and analytical outputs produced for M&E and VAM in the SW/NW are in line with WFP’s standards and practices and build the capacities of staff and partners to contribute to the production of high-quality monitoring, data management and analysis, and reporting.

  • Identify key outreach opportunities and media networks and contacts in West Asia region such as other related events for dissemination of products;
  • Conceptualize, format and prepare content for all outreach materials including:
    • Pamphlets on projects and specific topics for the region in both languages: Arabic and English
