Under the direct supervision of the ICT Operations Officer, the duties of the Information Technology Assistant will include but are not limited to the following:

• Install, configure, test and deploy server systems hardware and software, to include Local Area Network infrastructure, Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, Mac OS), Electronic mail, Citrix, Database systems, Web Development software, Firewall systems, Network Services Server systems (DNS, DHCP, NFS, CIFS/SMB, mail relay, and various security software.

• Assist in the installation and administration of LAN systems, including installation of hardware and software, user access to shared resources and information systems, and data security;

• Carry out delivery of the Work Order for computers, accessories and related equipment, as deemed necessary, and follow up on the Work Orders;

• Carry out configuration of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) before issuance to the users, setup of user Local Area Network (LAN) account, access to shared resources and information systems after ghosting of the machine with an updated image;

• Provide technical and client-oriented operational support to users;

• Identifying and eliminating bottlenecks to ensure long-term network efficiency.

• Assist clients in the daily maintenance of voice and data network infrastructure including LAN, MAN, WAN, WiFi, VOIP and NICs. Serves as tier 1, 2 and/or tier 3 resource for trouble tickets and work orders for voice and data networks and related network infrastructure devices.

• Perform mid to advanced level Cisco UC administration, implementation and troubleshooting of CUCM, CUC, UCCX, CUPS, CUBE, Jabber, Gateways MGCP, H323, SIP, CTI integration to switching platforms, dialers, call recorders and desk top platforms, and supporting infrastructure

• Contribute to Problem Management and the Knowledgebase e.g. by assisting in creating-materials to expedite service request fulfilments/incident resolutions, and training manuals;

• When working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-)governmental counterparts set aside dedicated time for capacity development through coaching, mentoring and formal and on-the-job training; and

• Performs other related duties as required.

Within the terms of organization’s delegated authority, and under the direct supervision of ICT Operations Officer for Kinshasa, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

• Coordinates with supervisor regarding installation of microwave equipment and implementation of projects.
• Implements regular and preventive maintenance for all microwave equipment and accessories in the mission area.
• Plans and designs the initial microwave network proposal, taking into account path profile assessments, frequency surveys, Fresnel zones and transmission limitations, for final approval by the supervisor.
• Assists in microwave pre-deployment surveys/feasibility studies and site preparation including installation of shelters, towers/antennas and associate power supply related accessories.
• Aligns and optimizes microwave dishes in order to maximize overall performance.
• Interfaces multiplexing equipment and configures connectivity to PABX, routers, switches and bridges.
• Monitors the health of the Microwave network using SNMP protocol-based software.
• When working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-)governmental counterparts set aside dedicated time for capacity development through coaching, mentoring and formal and on-the-job training.
• Any other related duties as may be required.

Planning

• Contribuer à la planification et à la gestion globales de l'exploitation de l'eau et de l'assainissement dans la région, tant pour les besoins actuels que futurs.
• Analyser et fournir des conseils en matière de planification, de conception, de construction et d'entretien des systèmes de traitement des eaux usées, y compris la collecte, le traitement et le rejet.- Fournir des intrants afin de susciter des demandes d'achat de matériel et de biens liés à l'eau et à l'assainissement dans le cadre des besoins globaux en matière d'ingénierie dans la région.
• Contribuer à l'analyse et donner des conseils sur la conception, la construction et l'entretien des systèmes d'approvisionnement en eau, y compris le développement des sources, le traitement, le stockage et la distribution, ainsi que les travaux de forage conformément aux calendriers prévus.
• Superviser le laboratoire de l'eau et des eaux usées de la région et faire au besoin des analyses de laboratoire détaillées pour les paramètres de qualité physique, chimique et micro-bactériologique, préparer des rapports sur l'état de la qualité de l'eau et formuler des recommandations à l'intention des opérateurs des stations de traitement de l'eau ;
• Donner aux troupes et au personnel de la formation sur l'analyse et la qualité de l'eau, l'entretien de l'équipement, la tenue de dossiers et le contrôle des procédés de traitement de l'eau ;
• Se rendre sur les sites de ligne de front et effectuer sur place des analyses de la qualité de l'eau et des eaux usées en tant qu'appui de routine au pays contributeur de (troupe) et au PCC (pays contributeur de police).

Opérations

• Mettre en œuvre la politique environnementale du DPKO et d'autres directives connexes concernant les questions d'eau et d'assainissement et contribuer à la planification, à la conception et à la construction d'infrastructures d'approvisionnement en eau et d'assainissement des eaux usées conformément à ces directives.
• Mettre en œuvre les directives environnementales du Département des opérations de maintien de la paix et fournir des avis sur la planification, la conception, la construction et l'entretien des systèmes et services environnementaux et autres activités d'ingénierie environnementale dans la région.
• Porposer des solutions aux problèmes d'eau, d'environnement et de génie sanitaire au fur et à mesure qu'ils se présentent.

Tâches Administratives

• Superviser la mise en œuvre de la politique et des lignes directrices de la mission pour la planification générale, le fonctionnement et l'entretien des programmes d'eau, d'environnement et d'assainissement dans la région.
• Entretenir un travail d'équipe et une coordination étroite avec les autres unités du génie, les officiers du génie militaire et les autres sections portuaires.

Agir à titre de chef de l'unité d'assainissement des eaux usées à son lieu d'affectation respectif.

• Exécuter d'autres tâches connexes selon les besoins de l'officier régional du génie

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Staff Counselling Unit based in Bamako, the UN Volunteer Staff Counsellor will undertake the following tasks:

Provide counselling services within the designated duty station, as outlined below:

• Perform individual assessments in the case of individual staff members experiencing difficulty coping with and/or presenting with mental health-related symptoms and follow up for additional intervention if indicated;
• Maintain case records, reports and statistics;
• Advise the Chief Staff Counselling Unit as necessary on individual cases where an identified problem is likely to have professional and/or personal impact, such alcohol/substance abuse, depression, anxiety, work-related difficulty/conflict or family stress, etc.;
• Advise chiefs/heads of section(s) as necessary, or upon request, with the aim of improving the atmosphere in their section and resolving problems of a work-related or personal nature that adversely affect job performance and productivity;
• Perform critical incident stress management interventions, either individually or in a group format, whenever and wherever required; work closely with Security Section, Administration, and Medical Section, inter alia, in coordinating and providing critical incident stress management;
• Collaborate with medical team to address physical complaints that might be stress-related; assure, in conjunction with the medical team, a continuum of services (referral, short-term supportive intervention) to those staff members suffering from serious diseases or illnesses;
• Provide training sessions on crisis and stress management, resilience, conflict resolution and other topics as required;
• Monitor environmental factors that could lead to stress with particular focus on stress related to critical incidents including emergency and crisis situations;
• Liaise with national mental health professionals and other psychosocial resources;
• Be available at all times 24/7 to provide support to mission personnel as necessary;
• Perform other related duties as may be required by the Chief of Staff Counseling Unit.
