En el marco de la autoridad delegada y bajo la supervisión del Especialista de Agua, Saneamiento e Higiene (WASH) de UNICEF Ecuador o su representante designado, el Voluntario de la ONU llevará a cabo las siguientes tareas:

  • Generar evidencia y gestión del conocimiento sobre Cambio climático, ambiente, energía y desastres y niñez en el Ecuador;
  • Acompañar técnicamente desde el área de cambio climático, ambiente, energía y desastres, procesos de participación adolescente y de jóvenes en el marco del Documento del Programa País de UNICEF;
  • Participar en la formulación del nuevo Documento de Programa País 2023-2026, asegurando la inclusión de la dimensión de cambio climático, ambiente, energía y desastres;
  • Prestar asistencia técnica y realizar abogacía a las instituciones gubernamentales y a las niñas, niños, jóvenes y adolescentes para la preparación de documentos y eventos nacionales, regionales y globales en relación con el cambio climático (PLANACC; NDCs, LCOY, COP, etc.);
  • Contribuir al logro progresivo del “climate shift”, la integración de la noción de cambio climático, ambiente, energía y desastres de manera transversal en toda la acción de UNICEF Ecuador;
  • Elaborar reportes según requerimientos internas y externas, en relación a las actividades realizadas y resultados logrados como UNICEF Ecuador en relación a la niñez y cambio climático, ambiente, energía y desastres;
  • Apoyar la formulación de propuestas para financiamiento para UNICEF Ecuador, en relación a niñez y cambio climático, ambiente, energía y desastres.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision and mentoring of the Health Specialist who also acts as the Emergency Focal Person for Mekelle Field Office, the UN Volunteer Health Specialist will provide technical contribution to the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the health interventions aimed at building the capacity of the health system of Tigray regional state so as to advance the survival and well-being of children and mothers in Tigray region, focusing in the most disadvantaged area and communities.

Specific Tasks

  • Contribute to Situation Analysis and its periodic update for effective planning, development and management, like assisting compiling, analysing and evaluating information and participating in providing technical input and support to Health interventions and its periodic update.
  • Exercises technical and programme management leadership for the development and implementation of the results-based sectoral work plan and objectives as well as for administration and monitoring of sectoral project activities, consistent with the defined project strategic priorities and approaches.
  • Undertakes field visits to support monitoring of programmes, as well as participate in periodic programme reviews with government counterparts and other partners. And provide support to identify necessary action for programme adjustments.

The UNV Subnational Planning for Children Officer will be responsible for contributing to subnational programme implementation efforts through working together with UNICEF Field Offices and subnational implementing partners to encourages adolescent and young people’s participation in subnational planning and budgeting processes

Subnational Planning for Children

  • Provides substantive support to UNICEF on subnational planning, specifically including inputs to the programme design and implementation at the subnational level.

Bajo la supervisión de la Técnica de Protección y Migración o su representante designado, y en coordinación permanente con operaciones de la oficina central, el Voluntario de la ONU llevará a cabo las siguientes tareas:

Trabajará desde Darién apoyando el trabajo del equipo desplazado en la zona y articulando con la oficina central de UNICEF que tiene su sede en la Ciudad de Panamá. Apoyará con la realización de tareas administrativas y operativas en terreno:

  • Enlace con la country office en Panamá.
  • Apoyo a seguimiento de socios, en especial a la entrega de insumos.
  • Identificación de proveedores y apoyo para la realización de cotizaciones locales.
  • Asegurar que los insumos a adquirir reúnen las especificaciones técnicas requeridas para su compra por la country office.
  • Coordinar la recepción y entrega de insumos in situ a las instituciones del Estado.
  • Brindar apoyo logístico a las misiones de terreno (viajes, hospedaje, alimentación, etc.)
  • Apoyo en la gestión de la caja chica de Darién.
