Under the overall supervision of UNDP and CICETE, as well as the direct supervision of the National Project Director of Project Management Office (PMO) for Neixiang Project, the National UN volunteer’s (NUNV) work will mainly focus on the local implementation of a poverty reduction and sustainable development demonstration project in impoverished area, and support projects relevant to rural capacity building. She/he assists in advocating and mainstreaming the rights-based approach to development programming and implementation. The job involves maintaining constructive relationships with local partners in Henan, goverenments, private sector, civil society organizations, other UN agencies, and donors, coordinating related issues to ensure project completion on time. The project will introduce advanced development concepts, enhance the understanding and capacity of leading cadres and civil servants, mobilize the private sector, social forces and other stakeholders to actively participate in local sustainable development, community governance, ecotourism, inclusive finance, an improvement of public services, especially the well-being of women, youth and children. This project focuses on promoting international cooperation in the field of sustainable development, gernerating and sharing knowledge and experience, strengthening public-private partnerships, integrating relevant technologies and financial resources, advancing innovative working modality, and engaging more key stakeholders in the process of addressing environmental challenges, rural revitalisation, public services, inequality, climate change, conserving biodiversity and promoting sustainable development. Specifically, the NUNV is expected to perform the following functions:
Maintain sound relationship with various stakeholders, including but not limited to UNDP, CICETE, governments at all levels, local project implementation agencies, cooperation units, domestic and foreign experts, audit and assessment agencies.

The position will design and implement coverage strategies across social media platforms, for key events and knowledge products; as well as ensure social media implementation of specific UN International days.
