Under the direct supervision of Regional Advisor /VPI, The Management of Immunization Data Assistant will undertake the following tasks:

  • Receipt and compilation of monthly district level data related to national immunization activities;
  • Manage databases, spreadsheets and other data tools, related to Vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) mainly measles and rubella surveillance including sentinel site surveillance for other VPDs;
  • Support countries in Dveloping and reporting on the new Immunization e- Joint Report Form;
  • Support the regional office in finalizing the global WHO Immunization information sytem (WIISE);
  • Support the countries in training on Vaccine Stock and Supply management (VSSM) web applcation;
  • Contribute to analysis of data and production of statistical reports;
  • Maintaining back-up database for immunization data received from the countries;
  • Contribute to providing Monthly Measles rubella bulletin;
  • Contribute to providing ongoing technical support to member states on maintaining and upgrading EPI data management system.
  • Any other relevant task as deemed necessary.
Bachelor degree or equivalent

- University degree in medicine , paramedical studies, Public health or social sciences.

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

1. Support the formulation and the effective implementation of the programmes:

  • Support the planning, implementation and monitoring phases of programmatic activities;
  • Support the development of programme work plans and budgets and in their quarterly updates;
  • Assist in collecting data, assessing and reporting key results for progress reportin and support production of periodic reports (quarterly and/or annual);
  • Support documentation for best practices and lessons learned linked tostrategic and operational objectives of the programmes and assist in writing success stories about results achieved and efforts;
  • Support quality assurance in the review of documentation, reports and e-mails and initiate corrective actions;
  • Support in the preparation of terms of reference for the consultants needed in order to achieve the work plan deliverables;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to programmes meetings and committees;
  • Maintain an efficient filing/documentation system of programme documents, ensuring their safekeeping;
  • Maintain good relations and effective coordination between institutional partners, civil society, and the United Nations development system.

2. Support the financial monitoring of programme activities:

  • Formulate the budget, control allotments, monitor expenditures, and prepare revisions according to the needs of the programmes;
  • Create projects, perform budget revisions in Atlas, and determine unutilized funds;
  • Monitor the setup of budgets in ATLAS to ensure their accordance with budgets agreed with donors and are input into ATLAS;
  • Contribute to the preparation of regular financial reviews and reports of the programmes;
  • Prepare the supporting documents and requests for procurement and payments;
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor;

Under the overall supervision of the Senior Regional Resource Management Officer SRRMO and the direct supervision of the Regional Information Technology Officer, and in close coordination with the respective Regional Recourse management and Regional Thematic and technical experts and in coordination with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Central Teams, the successful candidate will ensure the optimized use of IOM software solutions and be responsible for the analysis, development, deployment and maintenance of assigned IM activities and database solutions;

  • Ensure full compliance with ICT Standards while coordinating as necessary with ICT Central team for piloting of innovative software development solutions and procedures. Draft the required documentation using IOM ICT Technical Architecture standard documenting, coordinate the approval required by ICT Technical Architecture Review team on the design solution.
  • Establish and maintain a streamlined process for software development, integration, deployment and support to ensure sustainability of software undertakings including the development and improvement of strategies for repository deployment, layered software defense, caching, concurrency, redundancy, active directory integration, software assurance, backup and recovery, as well as software maintenance.
  • Provide software development guidelines on the design, enhancement, testing and deployment of IOM the Regional Office (RO) software portfolio as well as project management oversight for the software development.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and various stakeholders in understanding business and proposing streamlined workflows during requirements analysis ensuring scalability and business continuity of database solutions.
  • Develop online forms, applications, workflow for Share point online and Services for Automation of Business Processes in SharePoint Online using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of reliable documentation (i.e. SOP kits) to track all aspects of the RO software development portfolio including applications, business rules, database design, troubleshooting, user and technical manuals, and application installation and code deployment.
  • Design, develop and implement dynamic reporting solutions and visualization using Power Bi and other standard visualization tools.
  • Manage and implement application project plans, testing, release and support of Regional Office databases and applications in a sustainable manner.
  • Update staff changes in workflow and/or procedures and conduct knowledge-transfer initiatives on application development, support and reports production as required.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
  • University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Emergency Coordinator and Program Area
Manager of Emergency Response or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer
Technical Officer - Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will:

1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the EOC, ensure that all of the EOC’s
functionality, systems, hardware, software and staff support tools are well
maintained and operational throughout the full cycle of the incident.
2. Support the development and implementation of operational procedures and
structures for managing response to health emergencies, this involves liaising with
the incident management team, WCOs, other regions, headquarters and Member
States EOC structures as needed.
3. Ensure information-sharing and provide technical support to the information
management, telecommunications, geospatial information systems and security
management.
4. Receive all WHO staff and responders upon arrival to the incident site, provide the
required briefing and guidance, ensure full integration within their respective teams
and facilitate their mission.
5. Participate in the operational support responses to health emergencies. Act as a
surge capacity when required.
6. Provide technical support to WHO Country Offices to operate their EOC at country level.
7. During the recovery phase, take appropriate actions for the demobilization of the
Operations Centre, this includes:
• Return of borrowed equipment to appropriate locations.
• Replacement of broken or lost items.
• Restock of supplies and equipment.
8. Perform any other related incident-specific duties, as required by the functional
supervisor.

Master degree or equivalent

• A first university degree in management, public or business administration, health, information management, computer sciences or related field from an accredited/recognized institute;
• Preferable to have professional training in emergency management, events management and/or
public health.

• At least five up to 10 years’ relevant experience, combined at the national and international levels in
supporting emergency operations involving applying public health emergency planning and
management systems.
• Preferable to have experience in developing countries. Prior humanitarian working experience at
field level, with WHO, other UN agency, health cluster partners or with an international
nongovernmental organization.
• Excellent knowledge of English. Working knowledge of another WHO official language would be
an asset.
• Proficiency in MS Office with the use of IT facilities for information-sharing and/or database
management.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in operational support responses to outbreaks and
health emergencies and events management.
• Sound analytical, planning and organizational skills.
