Within delegated authority, the IUNV, Communications Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  • With a focus on the implementation of sustainable development programmes in the Pacific, takes the lead in strategy, planning, development and implementation of large, complex communications strategies and campaigns with both traditional and social media components;
  • Works UN Communications Group (UNCG), to develop and implement system-wide campaigns and to incorporate the campaign message and themes into all relevant events and products;

  • Act as the main focal point between the core communications team and the COVID-19 components of the projects to collect data and support communications products.
  • Act as the partnerships and communications focal point for the intra-office COVID taskforce.
  • Collect data for press releases, success stories, articles and other web content and make these available in English, Dari and Pashto to facilitate their broader dissemination for the programme pillar;
  • Support the CO and UNDP projects in the design and branding of outreach-oriented print materials.

  • High-quality, professional, timely and efficient support in developing, conducting and finalizing socio-economic impact assessment, Programme Documents, project and programme documents and other strategic documents is provided;
  • Provides timely input and support for the following: Surveys, focus group questionnaires are developed in line with the methodology provided, distributed via designated digital tools, the results are collected in timely and efficient manner;
  • Provides timely input and support in relation to the Database of survey results which is compiled, managed, ensuring that it is updated on a regular basis, in line with the needs of socio-economic impact assessment;
  • Analyses of socio-economic impact assessments are presented for a wide range of internal and external audiences;
  • Monthly progress reports.

This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, therefore only nationals of Ukraine and legal residents in the Ukraine with a residency permit, the status of refugee or with the status of being stateless are eligible to apply.

Candidates with long-term experience are encouraged to apply. Provided that the respective requirements are met, the assignment might be considered as UN Volunteer expert, including 40% additional VLA or as UN Volunteer Senior Expert (15 years of experience incl. international experience), including 100% additional VLA.
