Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Director of Administration and the Chief Finance and Budget or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer UNV Project Manager /Cost Accountant will:

  • Develop and document a standard service costing methodology used to cost (unit and composite costs) and explain the total cost of service provision to internal clients;
  • Build costing spreadsheet/database that can be linked to service catalogue;
  • Actively communicate with service providers and management. Help establish understanding momentum for a maintained, central service catalogue;
  • Work with focal points to ensure catalogue service details are provided and verified;
  • Provide guidance to DoA focal points on providing service costing details and on starting service and activity costing as part of their Annual Business Plans;
  • Support the Director in interagency advisory groups focusing on administration and operational support, such as Business Operation Strategy (BOS), common premises, and Common Back Offices (CBOs);
  • In relation to the UNDS reform, contribute actively in developing, documenting and executing detailed project work plans and schedule;
  • Assists with developing project status reports to communicate project performance to senior management;
  • Anticipates and evaluates potential risk areas throughout the duration of the project and proposes/pursues mitigation, avoidance, and corrective action plans to management as necessary, escalates issues to Unit Head’s/Director’s attention for guidance and assistance in reaching a resolution;
  • Assists in scheduling planning, status, design review, and issue management meetings for key unit projects;
  • Manage project updates and related documentation, and
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor
Master degree or equivalent
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, and/or Finance

  • At least 15 years of professional mixed work experience in: conducting service costing exercises; cost accounting, budget planning, operational support, and project management;
  • PRINCE2 foundation and practitioner certification (or equivalent) is required;
  • Advanced skills in working in Excel and MS project is required;

Sous la supervision directe du chef de l’unité Radio, le/la Volontaire de l’ONU / Producteur Radio aura les tâches suivantes :

  • Participer à la planification, à l’organisation et à la coordination des opérations de l’unité Radio de la mission, conformément à son mandat;
  • Développer des idées de contenu et de grille d’antenne pour MIKADO FM qui émet 24h/24;
  • Lancer de nouveaux projets radio, et développer, rédiger et enregistrer, selon les besoins, des programmes de radio originaux, des spots, des reportages et programmes d’actualités pour diffusion en français;
  • Travailler avec l’équipe nationale à la production quotidienne de contenus de qualité sur les antennes de Mikado FM;
  • Créer des identités de programme, des thèmes musicaux, des styles, et superviser/entreprendre toute autre tâche de production;
  • Participer au renforcement des capacités des collègues nationaux à travers le coaching, le mentorat ou le partage d’expériences;
  • Participer au développement et à la mise en œuvre de la stratégie numérique de Mikado FM, incluant les réseaux sociaux, en veillant notamment à la qualité de la langue et des productions;
  • S’assurer de la mise en œuvre d’une programmation juste, équilibrée, impartiale et respectueuse des normes élevées en matière d’information;
  • Sous la direction du/de la Chef de la Radio, préparer des rapports périodiques sur l'état de mise en œuvre la stratégie de la radio;
  • Entretenir les relations de travail les autres sections de la MINUSMA, les agences des Nations Unies, les organisations non gouvernementales, la société civile dans le but d’enrichir la programmation de Mikado FM;

Under the direct supervision of the Head of UNMIK Office of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs (OSCPA), the UN Volunteer undertakes the following tasks:

  • Drafts engaging human interest stories, features and multimedia scripts about the mission and its implementing partners’ activities and their impact, for dissemination on the mission public platforms (e.g. mission website and social media platforms);
  • Drafts complex and politically sensitive material such as press releases, if-asked lines, press packs, messages, talking points, and responses to media enquiries;
  • Proofreads and copyedits drafts prepared by other officers;
  • Plays a leading role in implementing the digital communications strategy of the office; keeping the mission website and social media platforms updated on a regular basis; provides support to other offices to keep information about their office and activities up-to-date on the mission digital platforms;
  • Assists the section chief in planning, coordinating and overseeing the production of a range of multi-media content (ex. photo stories and videos) in promoting issues in support of the mission’s mandate and its communications strategy;
  • Assists the section chief in designing and implementing public information campaigns, outreach events and programmatic activities in support of the mission mandate;
  • Contributes to internal communications of the mission and the office administrative tasks (ex. Drafting staff broadcasts, memos and reports);
  • Assists the section chief in designing and implementing programmatic activities (ex. drafting project proposals; liaising with implementing partners);
  • Represents the head of the office in meetings and events if and when required;

The purpose of this assignment is to establish and maintain efficient administrative systems and control mechanisms to support the smooth running of the operations and ensure compliance with administrative, human resources and financial rules and procedures. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial, administrative, and human resource functions of the office. Within the delegated authority and under the guidance of the NCD Coordinator for Myanmar, the Finance & Administration Specialist will carry out the following tasks:

  • Ensure compliance with financial internal controls, and ensure that transactions are processed, and assets managed in accordance with UNITAR Financial Rules and Regulations.
  • Prepare monthly/annual accounts closure, including bank reconciliations and submission of timely and accurate reports to headquarters.
  • Develop and monitor field office budgets.
  • Ensure provision of professional services from vendors/suppliers in an efficient manner.
  • Assist in the procurement process to ensure compliance with UNITAR procurement policy and procedures.
  • Oversee recruitment and appointments of local General Service staff and administer field staff entitlements and claims.
  • Provide training and advice on human resource, financial and administrative issues.
  • Support the office on audit, financial risk management and fraud prevention issues.
  • Manage all events organized by the office.
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Master degree or equivalent

● Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related areas from an accredited and recognized academic institution is required.
● A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree
