  • Under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer, the duties of the Planning, Monitoring and Reporting Specialist will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate project reporting processes monitoring tool, monthly and quarterly reviews) and ensure preparation of timely project reports;
  • Coordinate project-level planning processes;
  • Implement the results monitoring system (monitoring tool, monthly and quarterly reviews) and ensure the implementation of the different Frameworks developed by UNMAS DRC programme in M&E, Risk Management, Knowledge Management, Quality Management by each project manager.
  • Collect and analyze result-data and information (develop case studies, IMSMA Core);

  • Participate and follow-up on the development, implementation and monitoring of the Comprehensive Planning and Performance Assessment System for DPO Missions including MONUSCO.
  • Prepare draft budgets and project proposals for new projects and extensions of ongoing projects as required by the Programme Manager;
  • Draft Programme Quarterly and Annual reports;
  • Support/draft in donor reports and funding proposals, including ad hoc reports as required;
  • Prepare periodic substantive reports for implementing partners against donor contributions, projects and activities;
  • Provide logistical and substantive support for visits of external consultants/donors/stakeholders;
  • Liaise with UN partner agencies, the National Mine Action Coordination Center (CCLAM) and donors in mine action in obtaining up to date information on potential funding and projects;
  • Provide programme information to partner agencies, non-governmental organizations and contractors and UN agencies and MONUSCO;
  • Maintain documentation of decisions and actions taken on programme issues and all M&E mechanisms including lessons learned and frameworks implementation issues;
  • Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Master degree or equivalent

Master´s Degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Justice or Human Rights. Post-graduate academic training in M&E and quantitative/qualitative research is an asset​

  • As a member of the Mission Crisis Management team, participates in the preparation and implementation of Mass Casualty Incidence (MCI) Response, Medevac, and Casevac Standard operating procedures (SOPs;

  • Ensures the provision of health education to civilian mission personnel;
  • Participates actively in addressing environmental and occupational health issues;

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of EVAW Programme Analyst and Head of Sub-Office the UN Volunteer Networking and Partnership Development Officer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Assist in negotiating agreements and setting up implementation mechanisms partners and ensure that agreements are established in conformity with financial rules and the latest instructions.
  • Support the Head of UN Women Sub-Office in review the implementation and performance of project activities, including through appropriate physical monitoring to evaluate the projects by reviewing work plans, progress reports, budget, financial reports and expenditures; undertake field visits as required.
  • Undertake proper collection, monitoring and use of baselines, standards and indicators needed to measure and analyze programme performance, trends and target interventions.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for grassroots’ women on women’s rights and gender equality topics.

Under the direct supervision of the WFP Head of Field Office in Maungdaw and overall supervision of the Country Director and Deputy Country Director from the WFP Country Office in Naypyidaw, the UNV Program Officer will perform the specific duties and responsibilities

stated under Description of tasks:

  • Assist in the overall coordination and management of all WFP programs activities in Maungdaw & Buthidaung in northern Rakhine State (nRS);
  • Liaise and coordinate with all Cooperating Partners regarding food assistance activities,
  • Check and prepare CP payment requests for endorsement by Head of Field Office;
  • Provide back-up support and follow-up on WFP food assistance programs at Field Office level,
  • Ensure food pipeline management is effectively carried out;

Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Chief of the Manaus Field Office, as well as the Communication Specialist based in Belem, the UN Volunteer will support the analysis of media (digital and traditional) coverage of child rights topics and issues related to UNICEF’s work aimed at strengthening UNICEF’s engagement with various media platforms. They will further carry out communication related activities such as the production of content, ensuring high quality of work and timely service delivery.

They will provide effective support and undertake the following tasks:

Media Relations

  • Maintain and update media relations contact list/database. Ensure rapid and accurate information dissemination to the media.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining close collaboration with mass media, as well as with groups and organizations whose support is essential to the achievement of advocacy and communication objectives.
  • Assist in drafting and editing articles, press releases, human interest stories and other advocacy/information materials in all media formats, as appropriate.
  • Prepare background communication and promotional materials for briefing and visits of media and other special interest groups. Assist in the planning, logistic and administrative arrangements for them.
  • Assist in collaborating with the media through activities such as organizing project site visits, facilitating photo coverage and TV footage and utilizing both web-based and traditional media as appropriate, with special attention to opportunities related to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 30th anniversary of ECA and to the upcoming municipal elections.
  • Monitor and evaluate the use and effectiveness of media materials. Maintain a library of coverage (clippings, coverage etc.)
  • Support the Communication Specialist based in Belem and the Communication Section in Brasília in compiling a daily media monitoring report that analyses UNICEF’s presence and topics of interest for advocacy and fundraising in the media.
  • Undertake a lessons learned review of successful and unsuccessful communication experiences as directed by supervisor.

Advocacy Strategy

  • Support the Chief of Manaus Field Office and Communication Specialist in outlining and implementing a Amazon Territory advocacy strategy at state (all 9 states in TAM) and municipal level (all 3 capitals in PCU in TAM), based on the overarching advocacy strategy of the Country Office.
  • Monitor and evaluate the appropriate and timely dissemination of advocacy and communication materials to target audiences and participate in the evaluation of their impact.
  • Monitor and evaluate the use and effectiveness of media materials. Maintain a library of coverage (clippings, coverage etc.) in the Amazon Territory.
  • Ensure good quality data collection, analysis and evaluation and reporting to ensure effective communication strategies, planning and effective and efficient advocacy.
  • Support and strengthen the adolescent engagement through U-Report.

Content Production

  • Gather content and coverage of relevant country efforts to identify effective relevant country programme activities and results.
  • Produce advocacy and communication materials (e.g. briefing notes, images, videos, presentations etc.) that meet the standards set out in the Communication, Public Advocacy and Engagement Strategy 2017-2021.
  • Assist in drafting and editing articles, press releases, human interest stories and other advocacy/information materials for both web-based and traditional media, as appropriate.
  • Follow up on the production of advocacy and communication materials (e.g., films, videos, audio-visuals, etc.), and oversee the qualitative aspects of production, (e.g., quality control, translations, reviews of layout and graphic design etc.).
  • Establish or maintain an up-to-date documentation centre for communication materials including publications, press releases and clippings, photographs, audio-visual materials, web resources etc.
  • Develop and maintain a close collaboration with the media covering the humanitarian response.
  • Draft press releases, quotes and other information materials on the humanitarian response in all media formats, as appropriate.
