Under the direct supervision of the National Coordinator, the M&E officer will undertake the following tasks:

Ensure an appropriate monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system is in place and is functioning satisfactorily.

Provide relevant and timely M&E information in user-friendly formats to key stakeholders, and prepare presentations based on M&E data as required.

Ensure information required by the UNDP CO for input into Atlas database is availed in a comprehensive and timely manner

Identify areas where technical support to project partners is required. Organize refresher training on M&E for partners as required.

Identify lessons learned and develop case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project. Provide advice to the supervisor on improving project performance using M&E findings.

  • Attend meetings, trainings and workshops at the landscape on behalf of GEF SGP

La o el Voluntario Nacional Universitario/a de las Naciones Unidas se encargará de las siguientes tareas:

  1. Facilitar la creación de conocimiento sobre las personas LGBTI, la recopilación de datos y fomento del trabajo inclusivo en el sector privado y su relación con otros potenciales sectores (privado, público, academia y cooperación) en la República Dominicana.
    • Realizar investigaciones y desarrollar prácticas estratégicas de acercamiento de las personas LGBTI al sector privado;
    • Contribuir a la promoción de la inclusión de personas LGBTI en actividades e iniciativas identificadas de manera conjunta desde el Sistema ONU, con especial atención a lascoordinadas y lideradas por el PNUD República Dominicana, con un enfoque especial en la inclusión laboral;
    • Organizar y realizar talleres para empresas nacionales y multinacionales para promover la inclusión laboral de personas LGBTI.
    • Apoyar las actividades del proyecto de recuperación socioeconómica inclusiva y medios de vida de personas LGBTI, personas con discapacidad y migrantes durante el COVID-19 que dirige el PNUD.
    • Realizar acciones para promover las normas de conducta para las empresas hacer frente a la discriminación contra las personas LGBTI del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos.
    • Participar en esfuerzos interagenciales tomando como punto de partida el Marco de Asistencia de las Nacionea Unidas (MANUD) y mediante la participación en la Red Interganecial de Alianzas y Financiación para el Desarrollo (RIAFD), entre otros.
    • Otras tareas que pueden ser requeridas.

  1. Identificar y fomentar alianzas con socios externos relacionadas con el sector privado (es decir, oficinas gubernamentales, empresas nacionales y multinacionales, sindicatos de trabajadores, etc.) y otras agencias de la ONU en torno a la Agenda 2030.
  1. Apoyar en las iniciativas de Derechos Humanos desde el Sistema ONU, con especial atención a las promovidas desde la Unidad de Desarrollo Humano Sostenible, más específicamente a través de asistencia técnica y apoyo en el proyecto "Ser LGBTI en el Caribe". Contribuir a la sensibilización y la creación de capacidad del personal ONU, con especial énfasis a PNUD, sobre la inclusión de las personas LGBTI, especialmente las personas trans, mediante la coordinación de actividades y eventos regulares con diferentes partes interesadas (es decir, personal de las Naciones Unidas, gobierno, academia, sector privado, municipios y sociedad civil)
  1. Dar apoyo administrativo para conferencias, talleres, retiros así como colaborar en el control adecuado de documentos de respaldo para pagos e informes financieros, verificar los documentos relacionados enviados por los socios implementadores antes de enviarlos al Asistente de Finanzas para su verificación.

Además, los participantes en el Programa de Talento deben:

  • Fortalecer su conocimiento sobre los ODS y el Sistema de Desarrollo de las Naciones Unidas;
  • fortalecer su conocimiento y comprensión del concepto de voluntariado leyendo publicaciones VNU y externas relevantes y participando activamente en las actividades de VNU (por ejemplo, en eventos que marcan el Día Internacional del Voluntariado);
  • Elaborar artículos e informes sobre experiencias de campo para publicaciones en sitios web, boletines, comunicados de prensa del PNUD y de la ONU, etc..;

The UNV is hired to support Covid-19 safe markets awareness efforts by NGO partners to the UNDP/UNICEF/Government Urban Resilience Building Project under day-to-day guidance of the implementing partner and co-supervision of the UNDP and UNV delegated officials, the UNV Youth Community Awareness Volunteers will support market rehabilitation efforts in one of food markets in Harare, Bulawayo or Mutare as follows:

  • Lead in community awareness raising of COVID-19 in food marketplaces in Mbare, Sakubva or Bulawayo markets
  • Deliver and facilitate awareness raising, community engagement, and youth participation activities in the local area with a focus on promoting food safety and COVID-19 prevention
  • Support wide dissemination of community awareness-raising information, including briefing materials and press releases in coordination with the supervisor;
  • Support, plan community level communication activities ensuring community outreach to the public and adequate promotion of the Project as required;
  • Support the development of communication/outreach materials such as leaflets, brochures, briefs, posters, calendars, information packs, content management, norms of publishing, design, etc.;
  • Assure community-wide dissemination of the information and lessons learned;
  • Document the UNV’s experience for UNV Spotlight, and prepare end of year report on volunteer experience;
  • Work closely with municipalities, civil society organizations, community-based organizations and governmental agencies to promote project goals and ensure a wide-range communication outreach over various target groups;
  • Interact and collaborate with organizations with similar or complementary initiatives;
  • Regularly provide photo updates of the project activities;
  • Perform other duties as required.
Technical/Vocational diploma
  • Minimum Secondary education, Diploma is required
  • Individuals with a demonstrated interest in WASH, and or Gender, and or Civil Engineering, and or Food Markets, and or Community mobilization, and or Awareness Raising, and or Youth, Communications are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with youth is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Sound security awareness;
  • Have affinity with or interest in sustainable development and youth, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
