The thread that binds - regional launch in Cairo
The 2018 State of the World‘s Volunteerism Report, The thread that binds, places a spotlight on the relationship between resilient communities and volunteerism, finding that volunteers are a core strategy in building resilient communities. On 21 October, UNV and the United Nations Development Group launched the report in Cairo, Egypt, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm CEST.
About the event
During the event, the key findings of the 2018 State of the World's Volunteerism report were presented. Panelists which include representatives from the Egyptian government, the League of Arab States as well as UN Volunteers, looked at how the findings can be applied to the Arab context. The event also showcased real-life examples of how volunteerism can contribute to community resilience in the region.
