By day, UNV Field Engineer Officer Magloire Buffalo-Bill provides engineering support and services to MINUSTAH and its clients. After work, he turns his builder's skills to coaching football to vulnerable Haitian boys and girls so they can shore up their fitness and athletic ability on the playing field.
By day, UNV Field Engineer Officer Magloire Buffalo-Bill provides all manner of engineering support and services to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) and its clients. Managing a staff of 20, he plans, designs and carries out new construction, and renovates, rehabilitates and alters existing facilities on demand and now, as required by mission downsizing.
After work, Magloire volunteers as a football coach and trainer to vulnerable Haitian boys and girls. He turns his builder's skills to helping local youth shore up their fitness and athletic ability on the playing field.
Working in MINUSTAH as a volunteer is another unique experience which has given me the opportunity to learn and develop my knowledge and expertise in a multicultural environment, said Buffalo Bill. This makes me feel that at least I have contributed to make the world better than it was when I came into it, he concluded, paraphrasing Lord Baden Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement.
